usual operation.
The inverter converts DC voltage into AC voltage. The unit supplies The figure ″AC GENERATION - STATIC INVERTER LOCATION″

conditions.
In electrical emergency conditions (if DC Bus 1 is de-energized), the
inverter operation stops.
There is a pushbutton to control the inverter operation. During the
system normal operation, no power setting is necessary.
To decrease the pilot’s workload, the static inverter control pushbut-
ton stays pushed at the ″ON″ position. The unit energizes automati-
cally, if power is supplied to the inverter.
The static inverter may supply AC power to TCAS II (Ref. 34-43),
GPWS/Windshear (Ref. 34-41).

COMPONENTS

STATIC INVERTER LOCATION

The static inverter is controlled with the AC power pushbutton.

The inverter supplies 115 V AC, 400 Hz (250 VA) to the AC Bus. The
output voltage and frequency are electronically controlled.
The static inverter also has protection functions against:
− Overvoltage.
− Overcurrent.

OPERATION
The DC Bus 1 supplies power to the static inverter. The system starts
to operate when DC power is available at the inverter and when the
inverter control pushbutton (AC POWER), on the electrical system
control panel, is set to ″ON″ (pushed). In this condition, the inverter
supplies AC power to the 115 V AC Bus. If the inverter control
pushbutton is set to the ″OFF″ position (released), the inverter output
stops.
If the DC Bus 1 is de-energized, the static inverter stops the opera-
tion.
Thus, the AC generation subsystem does not operate when the
battery is the only electrical power source in flight.
During usual operation, if the 115 V AC Bus is de-energized or the
voltage decreases to less than 108.5 V AC, a caution message ″115
V AC BUS OFF″ is shown on the EICAS display.
If the DC Bus 1 is energized again, you must release and press again
the AC power pushbutton to reset the inverter.
With the inverter control switch at the ″OFF″ position, the pushbutton
striped bar will come on. It shows that the control pushbutton of the
static inverter is out of the usual operation position and the inverter is
OFF.
The ″AC GENERATION - AC SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM″ figure shows
the condition of the AC Bus energized.
