Taylor or Frederick Winslow Taylor was born in 1856, in Philadelphia is also known as
Father of Scientific Administration.1 Apart from this, he was an economist and an American Industrial
Engineer. He probably was the world’s first management consultant who producly carried his
business card which read “Consulting Engineer- Systematizing Shop Management and
Manufacturing Costs a Speciality”.

He further consolidated a system of managerial authority i.e., scientific management which


encouraged the shift in the knowledge of production from workers to the managers.
