becoming proficient or advanced is a probable goal however based on the

current data, which indicates the achievement level of students in California, there is a

huge disparity between the Caucasian and Asian communities and the African –

American and Latino communities? According to the California Department of

Education, 39 % of the African American population is performing at a proficient level

.That is a difference of 34% in comparison to the Asian population who has 74.6% of

their population performing at the proficient and advance level and 69.9% of the white

population performing at proficient and advance levels (California Department of

Education, 2009).

This study aimed to determine the Impact of Parental Involvement in Academic

Performance of Selected Grade 12 Students in Libon Community College. It is

important to know the impact of parental involvement that possibly affects youth’s good

academic performance.

School administrators, school facilitators and parents should know the impact of

parental involvement in academic performance, in order to help the students in

developing interest on studying. This research is organized in different chapter that

would tell the different information about the main topic.
