st(s)- stitch(s)
sl st- slip stitch
Gauge: with 3.75 mm hook and worsted weight yarn, 18 sc = approx. 4 inches
Special stitches:
Sc2tog: (single crochet 2 stitches together) begin to make sc, but don’t finish it by
leaving the 2 loops on the hook, insert hook in next stitch and pull yarn through,
now you have three loops on your hook, pull the yarn through the three loops on
hook to complete the stitch.
Notes:
-The booties in the pictures were made with “I Love this cotton” brand worsted
weight yarn and embroidery floss.
-When making the soles the pattern is done in a round. Do not join rounds or turn
work unless instructed.
-To help keep track of each round, insert a stitch marker in the last st of each
round.
-Invisible join instructions: Ch 1, cut the yarn, and pull the end all the way through
the center of the last st made. Using a yarn needle, weave the end under both
loops of the 2nd st to the left, and then back down through the center of the last
st. Weave in end.
-When making the top front of the shoe, the chain 2 at the beginning of each row
counts as the first stitch.

-The side facing you is the top of the shoe and will be facing out when the shoe is

this by folding the “top front” in half). This will help you crochet the “top front” on
straight by lining up the stitch markers.
-Take the sole and place a stitch marker in the top center front of the sole (I find
this by laying my crochet hook on the sole), count 9 stitches on either side and
place stitch markers. This is the start and finish of crocheting on the “top front”.
You should have a total of 19 stitches in between these markers. These are the
stitches you will be working in when attaching the “top front”.
-Turn sole inside out, with inside of the sole facing down place “top front” on sole
with the wrong side facing out.
Row 10: Single crochet the “top front” and the sole together by working in the
