The construction in dusty has plated a great role in influencing most of the sectors in the
economy of a nation. Also, the construction industry has been made simpler in terms of the
understanding and coordination of the raw materials through the supply chain management.
Supply chain management is a network of organisations which involve supplier and client on
various processes and activities which can produce value in the form of products and services.
Nonetheless, there exist issues which have been faced in the managements supply chain such as
market conflicts, labour intensive/error-prone and time-consuming of the purchasing of order and
invoices. With reference to the United Kingdom construction industry; this project thus aims at
understanding the significance of proper supply chain management in construction projects. The
research adopts a qualitative based methodological approach in the formulation of the research
objectives, whereby previous literature is assessed and effectively analysed to ensure information
integrity is upheld. Also, a quantitative approach was employed; where a survey was conducted
From the outcome of the research, supply chain management has successfully influenced the
UK construction industry in a positive way by; helping in collaborating with other industry

minimising the incurred cost and bringing the inter-organisational relationships, helping in
managing better-integrated services to the construction industry, aided in creating positive value
to end customers and stakeholders having greater success than being alone in the market.
Nonetheless, the research investigation has been characterised with a few limitations ranging
from the information assortment process, surveying of diaries from the web, the course of events
construction supply chain management. Primarily, the proposed strategies will enforce a cost-
efficient coordination system which ensures that there is saving of time in the implementation of
most of the procedures. This implies a cost-saving opportunity creation within the UK
construction industry (Fredslund et al., 2019). As had been realised in the past literature, there is
the possibility of reducing the amount of the generated waste hence increased profits realised. A
properly integrated supply chain management system in the construction industry will ensure that
only the required materials are generated, hence saving from the production of excess materials.
Other associated logistics are also saved significantly, which increases the overall productivity of
UK construction projects.
Environmental aspects
Environmentally, the most affecting issue is the emissions of greenhouse gases, specifically
carbon. With the limited transportation trips made through the proposed strategies, it is quite
usual that the amount of carbon emission into the atmosphere will reduce by a great margin. A
more coordinated system between the production and transportation reduces the traffic on the
road, which positively impacts the human, fauna and flora (Frei et al., 2016). Moreover, most of
the wastes which are generated onsite significantly contribute to pollution of the environment.
The implication is that with a highly robust approach as recommended; the waste production will
be reduced hence promoting a healthy environment with reduced impacts on the carbon emission
hence minimising the staff turnover in the UK construction industry. Further, there is a
minimisation of the associated conflicts with a better coordination system onsite. This extends to
high transparency within the construction site, which minimises the incidences of emergency
cases which might arise due to miscommunication of various construction personnel (Gosling t
al., 2015).
construction projects in the UK. The construction industry, in general, entails various activities,
beginning with the conceptual stage up to the final delivery concept. However, it has been
inclusive of the supply chain management. The supply chain management concept on
construction projects is of great significance in the UK construction industry, and over the past;

management projects in the united kingdom projects include Manual procedures employed in
the execution of procedures hence affecting the labour productivity; huge pressure on fragile
supply chain due to poor set up of the finance and procurement teams, lack of advanced
integration of technological advances within the supply chain management; as well as the fragile
nature of the supply chain management system. These issues significantly impact the
