Answer the following questions.

Q.1: Where does social influence stands in daily life? Critically
differentiate between the mentioned broad categories. (at least
four differences)
ANSWER:
Social Influence
Social influence includes the ways in which people change their
behavior to fulfill the requirements of a social climate. Conformity,
socialization, peer pressure, loyalty, leadership, persuasion, sales, and
marketing take many forms and can be seen.

For example,
An individual may feel forced to eat, for sure, because the majority of
their family are. The normative social impact tends to lead to
acceptance because the person eats just for show, but deep down they
don't want to eat. This means that any change in acts is temporary.

Q.2: “Laws and Rules are upheld simply because they are Laws
and Rules”. Build your arguments w.r.t examples.
ANSWER:
• People have to resist social demands and follow the laws of the
larger society in order to maintain social order.
• Follow the rules & rights

EXAMPLE:
Since it would be against the law and he has a responsibility to uphold
the law, Saqib should not loot the bike. The far one is the needs of law
and society. Don't steal" because this is clearly illegal" In order to
retain the respect and acceptance of friends and family, good conduct
is promoted. Understand that expectations are defined for the present
social structure, not that self-interest is involved (e.g., no such thing
as a bad law) "People choose to live up to family and community
standards and act in "right" ways. Good behavior involves having
good intentions, such as affection, empathy, confidence, and respect
for others, and interpersonal feelings.
Example:
The best thing to do is to volunteer at a charity home. Although stage
three acts are more concerned with satisfying your family, level four
is associated with pursuing the whole of society. Emphasis is given to
obeying laws in order to preserve social order.

Q4: ‘’Physiological arousal occur simultaneously with the

emotional experience”. Identify the theory. Hence justify w.r.t one
relevant example of your own.
ANSWER:

Walter Cannon and Philip Bard, physiologists, developed the Cannon-

Bard theory of emotion. We sense the feelings and undergo
physiological responses such as sweating, shaking and muscle tension
simultaneously, according to this theory. The emotion theory of
Cannon-Bard claims that stimulating events cause emotions and
physical responses that happen at the same time. Cannon-Bard
indicates that in the thalamus, all of these reactions originate
simultaneously. This is a small structure of the brain responsible for
sensory input processing. It relays it for processing to the appropriate
region of the brain.
Example:
Seeing a snake could trigger both the sense of panic (an emotional
response) and a rasing heartbeat (a physical reaction). Cannon-Bard
implies that all of these reactions happen independently and
concurrently. In other words, the physical response, and vice versa, is
not dependent on the emotional response.
