The marking is as default made by a secondary plate welded on the item.

Alternative marking method e.g. machine stamping can be used if:
• The specification (drawing or TPS/TSS) specifies the marking method
• The marking method is approved by Vestas.

Requirement to welded marking plate:

• Marking plate/dimension to be agreed and approved by Vestas during the sample phase.
• Material shall be the same as weld on basic material (thickness of plate 2-4 mm) or an alternative
approved by Vestas.
• Placement is described on the drawing. If not the placement shall be agreed with Vestas.
• To be welded with fillet weld a2 or as displayed on drawing according to the weld quality level described
on the drawing.
Example of marking plate: (Notice - suggested bend line is not a unique demand, but the suppliers must assure
that the surface treatment between the plate and the item is according to specification on the drawing). Marking
shall be easy visible after surface treatment.
