. elect one of the option in the elect Uer Action drop-down menu.
Rename Uer: Ue the check oxe in the 'nter Modif Uer Detail' ection to rename the uer logon
name and/or the uer account name.
nale Uer Account: nale or re-enale a uer account.
Diale Uer Account: Diale a uer account. elect the 'Uer Name' or 'Logon Name' to diale either
one*, in the 'nter Modif Uer Detail' ection.
Delete Uer: Delete the uer from the Active Director. elect the 'Uer Name' or 'Logon Name' to delete
either one*, in the 'nter Modif Uer Detail' ection.
Update Uer Detail: Ue thi option to update the uer' detail.
Update Account Option: Ue thi option to et account attriute for the uer. elect from four
attriute: Uer mut change paword at next login, I Active, Uer cannot change paword, and
Paword never expire.
Change Paword: Ue thi option to change a uer' paword.
et Propert: Ue thi option to aign a value to a uer propert, view the current detail and update
them.

Create Group Command:
Thi command enale ou to create a group in the Active Director. Follow thee tep to inert the Active
Director - Create Group command.
1. Doubleclick or drag the Active Directory Create Group command to the Task Actions List pane. The Active
Directory main window is displayed.
2. Select options for GroupName, Description, Group Scope and Group Type.
Modif Group Command:
Thi command enale ou to modif a group in the Active Director. Follow thee tep to inert the Active
Director - Modif Group command.
1. Doule-click or drag the Active Director - Modif Group command to the Tak Action Lit pane. The
2. elect option for: Rename Group, Delete Group, Add Uer To Group, Remove Uer From Group and
et Propert.

Delete Group: Ue thi option to delete an exiting group.
Add Uer to Group: Ue thi option to add additional uer to a group. A uer lit i diplaed. Ue the
Add*, Remove* and dit* utton and click on Add Uer to the group.
1. Adding/diting/Removing multiple uer in a Group: You can elect a uer or enter multiple
uer to add/edit/remove in/from a group from within the group lit of the 'Active Director
Oject rower' Window.
Input the uer name in the 'nter uer()' text ox. If aigned, ou can alo inert variale.
Note: Multiple uer name/variale mut e eparated with a ';' (emi-colon).
2. Adding Logon Name a Uer() *: If our Active Director comprie uer with ame name, ou
can add 'Logon' name intead a 'Uer()'. To do o, elect the option 'The aove name are
Logon Name' in the 'Active Director Oject rower' window. Optionall, inert variale(), if
aigned.
3. diting Logon/Uer Name *: You can edit our Logon Name, Uer Name and even the LDAP
tring, if input incorrectl. elect the Uer, Click 'dit' and ou hall e guided to the 'Active
Director Oject rower' window, wherein ou will e ale to input the necear change. Click
'ave' once done.
Note: When editing a Uer Name, ou can alo elect the 'Logon Name' option.
Remove Uer from Group: Ue thi option to remove uer from a group. A uer lit i diplaed. Ue the
Add* and Remove* utton and click on Remove Uer.
et Propert: Ue thi option to aign a value to a group propert.
Create Oject Command:
Thi command enale ou to create a new oject, either for Computer or for Organizational Unit, in the Active
Director. Follow thee tep to inert the Active Director - Create Oject command.
1. Doule-click or drag the Active Director - Create Oject command to the Tak Action Lit pane. The

Get All Uer of a group: Ue thi option to find all uer that are memer of a group, and tore them in
a lit variale. Depending on the return tpe of the lit variale, it contain the uer name or the LDAP
path for the memer.
Run Quer: Ue thi option to pecif an Active Director quer and run it. The quer reult are tored in
a lit variale, either for oject name or LDAP path, depending on the option elected.

Get Propert Command:
Thi command enale ou to retrieve a pecific propert value for an oject (uer name, group name, computer, or

command. You can ue a Dela command to make the tak wait, and ou can pecif the amount of wait Clipoard Command

For ome application, automating action might require waiting for a creen to change, or another
window to open. Let' a ou want to wait for the content of a creen (or an area within our
application) to change efore performing the next et of action (uch a command, moue click, or
ketroke). Thi i ueful in man application window where the text i not a electale format.
In thi cae, ou might mark the area  uing the capture utton. An image will e diplaed in the image
preview o that ou can verif the captured portion. Keep in mind that the ample image i not ued for
comparion while the tak i running; it i onl ued to verif that the image wa captured correctl. When
the tak run, a creen hot of the area i captured, uing the coordinate relative to the creen or window
that ou've pecified. Here, let' call thi image 'imageA.'
Automation Anwhere now wait for the amount of time to pa that ou've pecified, then egin
comparing the image on the page to imageA. It continue to compare the image in the marked

rectangular ection to imageA, and when difference occur, the comparion top and the tak proceed

1. Take naphot: In cae of an error, take a naphot of the creen.
2. Run Tak: Run another tak when the current tak encounter an error.
3. Log data into file: Log the error into a file. For example, ou can log the rror Line No. and Decription,
then ue the tem variale $rror Line Numer$ and $rror Decription$.
4. end mail: end an email when the error occur. Optionall 'Attach naphot' and/or 'Attach Variale'.

The where and how of Contain Header
You can appl the Contain Header option for xcel operation:
Open preadheet - Contain Header option i controlled from thi u-command a it i configured to
the eion pecified here. Conequent xcel operation will conider the option; whether elected or
not for the eion pecified in thi command. Hence, configuring thi command i a mut.
Reference Point:
1. When ou open multiple preadheet during automation, the program conider the lat
preadheet action. It mean that if 'Contain Header' i enaled in eion 1 and not in eion 2,
the conequent command will not have Contain Header enaled unle ou pecif the
particular eion that ha Contain Header (eion 1 in thi cae).
2. In preadheet with duplicate header name/content, the program will conider the firt
occurrence of the header name/content.
3. If ou include an invalid value or the header row mimatche, the program will throw an error
during pla time.
4. You can input maximum three (3) alphaet for a Column title (e.g. AC); if ou input more then
ou will encounter an error "Check the value pecified in the Column Title. You can input up to 3
alphaet onl."
Get Cell - For the 'Get ingle Cell' or ' Get Multiple Cell' parameter, include the xcel Cell variale in
the 'pecific Cell' or 'From pecific Cell' and 'To pecific Cell' text oxe a hown:
In the variale, input the cell heading title. For e.g. if the cell range pecified i A5 through A10, define
the variale with heading title a given in cell A1; in thi cae "ID".
Note: In edition earlier to 8.1, Contain Header wa applicale and availale in Get Cell command
onl. If ou are re-configuring a tak that ue that verion with 'Contain Header' enaled, it will e
"graed out." It i recommended that ou re-configure the command in the tak if ou want the tak to
run properl in the current edition.
et Cell - You can appl the 'Contain Header' option to parameter 'Active Cell' and 'pecific Cell' when
configuring the et Cell command. If the cell poition hift, value in the pecified cell will e et
appropriatel.
You cannot, however, reet value in the cell if the elected cell, i a header cell. You will encounter the
error "The pecified cell i part of the header row. You cannot et value in it a 'Contain Header' i
enaled." during pla time.
You will alo not e allowed to et the value of a cell that i defined a a header title. ame i true, if it' in
edit mode and the option i enaled.
Go to Cell - You can Go to a pecific or Active cell when 'Contain Header' i enaled. All condition that
are applicale during 'et Cell' are alo applicale here.
Note: In Active Cell, nd of the row/column refer to "end of the row/column of data"; not the end
of preadheet row/column.
Delete Cell - When uing thi command for 'Contain Header', ou will not e allowed to delete the
cell that have a header title defined i.e. the firt row of the preadheet. If ou have pecified a cell that i
defined a a header - either  uing the active or pecific cell parameter, ou will encounter the error
"The pecified cell i part of a header row. You cannot delete it a 'Contain Header' i enaled." during
pla time.
Find/Replace -When uing thi command for 'Contain Header', ou will e allowed to Find a cell value
 Row/Column ut Replace the content in onl thoe cell that are not defined a header title. If ou
pecif a cell that i defined a a header, ou will encounter the error "The pecified cell i part of a header

ingle parameter, intead of pecifing eparate parameter for each condition a wa the cae in earlier
edition of Automation Anwhere.

Uing the IF command, ou can elect IF and 'Window doe not exit,' and tpe the maximum time in econd to
wait for the window to e diplaed. (In thi cae, 5 minute, or 300 econd.)
Automation Anwhere check for the window to e diplaed. If it appear in 30 econd, Automation Anwhere
immediatel egin running the command ou pecified within the conditional IF.
If ou leave the 'How long would ou like to wait...?' field empt, or enter '0 (zero)', Automation Anwhere check for
the condition immediatel and run the action. If the condition doe not exit, thee action are kipped and the
action that follow the NDIF are run.

Uing the Image Recognition Command
To ue the Image Recognition command, follow thee tep:
1. elect an image file from a folder or that i captured from an application window. Thi image can e
tandalone or contained within another image that i captured dnamicall at run time.
2. To locate the image at run time, pecif the minimum percentage match for which ou want the
command to return TRU.
3. elect an option for clicking on the image when it i found within a larger image. You can elect Left
Click, Doule-Click, or Right Click.
If ou are uing the command for a Window, ou alo have the flexiilit to poition our click location*. Jut
poition the 'cro-hair ' at the pot where ou wih to click during run time when the image i found.
For larger image, ou can croll and poition the 'cro-hair' a required.

Note: If uing Image Recognition in conjunction with 'If - le' command, elect the option 'If the image i
found, click on it' for the crohair to appear.
Tip: To get ack to the default cro-hair poition (center of the image), impl click 'Reet Crohair'.
4. elect the option - Match Percentage, Tolerance and Comparion Mode:
Match Percentage: A 0 (zero) Match Percentage mean none of the pixel hould mimatch etween the
two image. A Match Percentage of 20 mean that even if up to 20% of pixel mimatch etween the two
image, the image will e conidered to match. Ue for image that are quite imilar, et are not
matched.
Tolerance: A 0% Tolerance mean the individual RG value of the pixel eing compared mut match,
exactl. imilarl, a 20% tolerance could allow the individual RG value of the pixel to var from + 20%
to - 20% for a ucceful match.
1. While Match Percentage define the extent of overall mimatch allowed etween Image1 and
Image2, Tolerance define the extent of mimatch allowed etween an two pixel under
comparion.
2. The RG color pace ue 8 it each for red, green and lue and can have integer value
ranging from 0 to 255.
For intance when uing Tolerance,
Cae1 - mimatch with 20% Tolerance -
Image1 pixel value:
Cae2 - ucceful match with 20% Tolerance -
In Cae1, the image are clearl a mimatch. The difference in R value of oth image exceed the
Tolerance limit  10 (20% of 255 i approximatel 50 and 250 - 190 > 50). While in Cae2 it' a
ucceful match a the difference etween the R,G and  value of oth image fall within the
Tolerance limit.
Comparion Mode: elect one of the method of comparion:
1. Normal mode: Compare the RG component of the pixel with the ource. Ue thi when ou
are not othered aout the peed and want exact color match in complex cenario.
2. Gra-caled mode: Convert pixel to an appropriate level of gra-cale prior to comparing. Ue
thi when color are of limited enefit in comparion and ou want our tet to run fater.
3. Monochrome mode with Threhold: Convert pixel to either lack or white prior to comparing.
The threhold value i ued while converting the RG or Gra-caled pixel to either lack or
white (a pixel value le than the threhold value i lack; greater i white). Ue thi when ou
want to recognize multi-colored text againt multi-colored ackground.
A Quick Tet *: Ue the 'Quick Tet' utton to quickl acertain the output i a required. Thi eliminate
the need to run the entire tet.
1. A 'Quick Tet', eing imilar to an actual tet, include the parameter provided for Match
Percentage, Tolerance and Comparion Mode.
2. If variale are ued in the tak, 'Quick Tet' will not e applicale.
3. A the 'Quick Tet' feature i availale from verion 7.5.1 onward, for it to work in tak created
uing earlier verion, ou will have to recapture the image.
Tip and Trick:
• Click on Image1 to preview in the default picture viewer.
• For Fater image recognition, if a particular color dominate the entire creen (a gra), make ure that the
upper left corner of Image2 doen't include that color.
• For Fater image recognition, enure Image2 to e recognized i a mall a poile.

2. Lit: Ue thi command when ou do not know how man time a tak need to loop. If ou have a lit
variale that contain everal value, ou can ue the Lit command to loop through the entire lit until it
reache the end. Uing thi command, ou can repeat the action within the tart Loop/nd Loop lock
a man time a necear to reach the end of the lit. You can acce the lit variale value within the
loop. For example, the firt time the loop run ou can get the firt value of the lit variale, the econd
time ou get the econd value of the lit variale, and o on.
3. Condition: Ue thi command to run action aed on condition that exit. For example, ou might want
to repeat a et of action aed on whether a file exit. You can check the condition at the end of the
iteration  electing the check ox. Optionall, ou can add a 'Wait' time for the condition to e true.
Uing AND or OR operator in Loop While > Variale command*
When ou need to include the 'AND' or 'OR' condition in conjunction with the 'Variale' u-command,
ue the 'Add more condition' option. It offer ou the luxur of including all our 'AND' or 'OR' condition
within a ingle parameter, intead of pecifing eparate parameter for each condition.

command of the xcel command. When ou have retrieved a range of cell from xcel uing Excel >
Get Cells > Get Multiple Cells , the row and column of the range are tored in the tem variale
$xcel Column$.
For example, if ou retrieve a range of cell from xcel that ha five column, ou can acce the five
column of the tale  calling$Excel Column(1)$, $Excel Column(2)$, $Excel Column(3)$, $Excel
Column(4)$, $Excel Column(5)$. Thi command i extremel ueful for tranferring data from one
xcel preadheet to another, or to an other application.
5. ach Row in an Internet xplorer Tale: Ue thi command in conjunction with the xtract Tale u-
command of the We Recorder command. When ou extract a tale  uing the We Recorder xtract
Tale command, the row and column of the tale are tored in the tem variale $Tale Column$. For
example, if ou extract a tale with five column, ou can acce the five column  calling $Table
Column(1)$, $Table Column(2)$, $Table Column(3)$, $Table Column(4)$, $Table Column(5)$.

When ou iue an QL quer uing the Automation Anwhere Dataae QL Quer command, the reult

For example, if ou iue an QL quer to a dataae for five column of data. You can acce the five
column from the reult et  calling $Dataset Column(1)$, $Dataset Column(2)$, $Dataset

tranferring data from a dataae to other application, uch a a We page or an xcel preadheet.

numer of file in a folder can change. You can pecif a folder and loop through all file in that folder.

1. Add: You can add a Ke and Value to a we ervice requet. Thi can e ueful if a recorded requet ha

2. Delete: Uer can delete a particular Ke and it value  electing it from requet header. Thi i ueful
when change to a particular ke and it value are known. The change will then e reflected while
plaing of the command.
Tip: Ue the end Requet utton to end the requet. Thi will automaticall fill in the Repone
and can e aved to a variale for eae of proceing.
Parameter
URL: Dipla the URL Parameter for the current we ervice requet with Ke and Value pair.
1. Add: You can add a URL/Pot Parameter and Value to a recorded requet. Thi can e ueful if the
requet ha additional field or parameter added to it.
The uer can manuall add them. The change will then e reflected in the URI when end Requet i
clicked and/or plaing of the command.
2. Delete: elect a particular Parameter for Pot or URL which ou want to remove. Click Delete utton. Thi
i ueful when change to a particular Pot or URL parameter i known.
POT Parameter:Dipla the Pot Parameter for the current requet. Applicale when Method i POT or PUT.
Authorization: RT We ervice upport HTTP aic authentication implementation uing thi Authorization ta.
Tip: Click end Requet and the Repone will e filled in automaticall. The repone hould e tored in a
variale for further proceing.
Repone
The repone for we ervice upport oth XML and JON format.
1. Header: Dipla the detail ke and value of repone header for the requet.
2. od: Dipla the repone od for the elected requet.
Thi repone od hould e aved to an appropriate variale for teting of the RT We ervice, Get
Method.

2. POT Method
The Pot method i ued a a requet that the erver accept the entit encloed in the requet a a new
uordinate of the we reource identified.
RT We ervice command upport three content tpe: application/JON, application/XML, and default format
(x-www-form-urlencoded).
1. nter URI where ou want to Pot our repone.
2. elect the POT Method.
In the Requet Header a drop down will e diplaed for the content tpe.  default, text format i
diplaed.
3. For the Parameter ta, ue the Add utton to Add the value and ke pair when content tpe i of default
format.
4. Click end Requet utton.
5. If the content tpe i JON or XML, a multi-line text ox i diplaed for the POT Parameter for eae of

3. PUT Method
The PUT method i ueful to update data for a particular we ervice URI. It can alo e ued to pa different URI
parameter aed on the ke value pair for updation. Thu a record can e updated uing a ke value pair uing PUT
method with requet header.
1. nter the URI.
2. elect the PUT Method.
3. For the URL Parameter, modif the value a hown in the elow example.
4. Click the end Requet utton.
5. You will ee an HTTP/1.1 200 OK repone with the updated od Parameter.

4. DLT Method
The DLT method requet that the origin erver delete the reource identified  the Requet-URI.
In elow example we ee how for a URI, paing the appropriate Parameter, and ending the Requet the record get
deleted.

Follow the elow tep to Run a tandard API from AP to automate a tak to end and receive required
information from AP.
1. elect Run tandard API action for AP Integration command.

Overview

title. To pecif thi, ue *Untitled* for the window title. In thi cae, Automation Anwhere earche for the
exact window title ("Untitled"). If it i not found, Automation Anwhere earche for window that contain the word
"Untitled" in the title.
You can ue a wild card character (*) at the eginning or at the end of a window title.
Note: If ou enale ‘ecure Recording Mode’, and tr to ave the command, a warning meage appear
“ecure Recording Mode. nure that the captured image doe not contain an enitive data. The image will e
tored on dik at the location that ou have pecified. Do ou wih to continue?" If ou wih to continue, click ‘Ye’,
and the command i aved. Click ‘No’, if ou wih to dicontinue. You are navigated ack to the command where

on the poition of the XPath expreion.
Delete Node/Attriute Command
Ue thi command to delete a node or attriute from the XML file, a a reult of pecifing the XPath value.
Update Node Command
Ue thi command to update node in a eion at the poition that i pecified for the XPath expreion.
Validate XML Document Command
Ue thi command to validate eion data uing XML chema file (.xd) or internal Document Tpe Definition
(DTD). You can alo validate whether the eion data i well-formed.
You can tore the output of the validation tep (VALID/INVALID) in a variale. If an error occur during validation, it i
tored in the tem variale named: $rror Line Numer$ and $rror Decription$.
Get Node() Command
Ue thee command to retrieve the value of node or attriute in the eion data.
Get ingle Node: Retrieve the value of a ingle node or attriute from the eion data, at the poition
pecified in the XPath expreion. The value i aigned to a variale.
Get Multiple Node: Retrieve value from multiple node in the eion data, uing Text value/XPath
expreion/pecified attriute name, aed on the pecified XPath expreion.
The value i aigned to a tem variale named $XML Data Node (Node name)$, which ou can ue in conjunction
with a LOOP command. For example, ou can inert a loop to earch each node in an XML data et.
