1 AVAILABILITY & PREREQUISITES


The new system measurement program is available as of the following releases/support Packages in
software component SAP_BASIS: 7.02 (SP21), 7.31 (SP23), 7.40. (SP20), 7.50 (SP11), 7.51 (SP06) and
7.52 (SP02).

The measurement process runs in a Web Dynpro Application. Therefore, you must activate the SICF nodes:
· /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/law3_wd_slat_main
· /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/law2_wd_application

2 ACCESS IN THE SAP SYSTEM


Start the System Measurement Settings with transaction code USMM in SAP GUI.

All system measurement related settings need to be done or checked here, before the system measurement
is being started.

2.1 New Features


· The system measurement runs in a Web Browser à
· For each of the settings there is an online documentation available à documentation icon
· The RFC destination to the LAW central system can be maintained directly on the initial page à
Maintain RFC Destination to LAW Central System.
· A classification of roles can be done with à Role-Based Classification.
· Rules can be defined to classify the users automatically à Define Rules.

2.2 Start System Measurement Program


To open the measurement program in a Web Browser, select function à System Measurement.
By default, the process step 3. Perform Measurement is active.

To start the system measurement immediately, select à Start System Measurement.

3 NEW AND IMPROVED FUNCTIONS IN THE SYSTEM MEASUREMENT PROGRAM

3.1 Check Notes


In the system measurement request e-mail, there is a file attached that contains all customer’s relevant SAP
notes. This file can be used to upload in the measurement program, process step 1. Check Notes.

· The file can be uploaded in each SAP system that is being measured; if the SAP system has the
required SAP_BASIS release and support package level (paragraph 1. Availability).
· If there are no relevant notes for the corresponding system available, then there is an information
message and the table remains empty.

3.2 User Classification


· In process step 2. User Classification all users created in the current login client can be
displayed à . Alternatively, users can be selected by different search criteria.
· Users can be classified using the rule-based classification. Find more information in the online
documentation accordingly.

3.3 Perform Measurement


The system measurement can be started in process step 3. Perform measurement and with the function

The hereby activated jobs can be tracked by pressing the Refresh button until the measurement is complete.

Once the measurement is complete, the Status of Background Jobs, the measured User Types and the
Engines are displayed in the table.

3.4 Result Transfer


All options to transfer and display the results are combined in process step 4. Result Transfer.
