HIV Infant Feeding Policy

GENERAL POLICIES

1. If the mother has HIV/AIDS, exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for the first six
(6) months of the infant’s life.

2. Parents shall decide on the use of replacement feeding and it should be acceptable,
feasible, affordable sustainable and safe for them and the infant.

3. Support service are offered upon discharge and referral to HACT Clinic for follow-up
and assistance.
