1. INTRODUCTION
This document describes the technical release for OmniPCX Enterprise Release 9.0.
Release 9.0 (version H1.301.24) is a major release.
Note
Version H1.301.24 has the same level of correction as versions G1.503.16 (R8.0.1) and F5.401.34
(R7.1).
Additional corrections of major RAs have been integrated selectively.
The programs of certification have been changed by ABPP. They are available on BPWS under
Training and Certification > Training > Post-Sales > Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise > Release
9.0.
You should need to make sure that all versions of existing applications are compatible with Release
9.0; refer to chapters 4, 5, and 6 of the technical communication TC1089 Installation procedure for
version H1.301.24 – Release 9.0.

2. NEW HARDWARE AND FEATURES FROM RELEASE 9.0

2.1 Overview
This version works with the Linux 62.2 operating system and supports the Crystal hardware and
common hardware platforms (common hardware with OmniPCX Office).
It enables the Call Server to work with the CPU6 Step2 128 MB, CPU7 256 MB, CPU7-2 256 MB of
crystal hardware, CS CPU, IBM Appliance Server (X306, X306M, X3250 and X3250 M2) and
Hewlett Packard Appliance Server Proliant DL320 G5.
It also allows the Call Server to work with IBM Lames integrated in a Blade Center.
It allows hardware to be combined (common hardware and crystal hardware): since Release 5.1, the
migration of OmniPCX 4400 to OmniPCX Enterprise is supported, but some applications and
hardware are no longer supported (therefore in the case of migration from 4400 to R9.0; refer to
chapters 5, 6 and 7 of the technical communication TC1089 Installation procedure for version
H1.301.24 - Release 9.0.

2.2 New hardware

2.3 New features

2.3.1 Increasing provisioning level

− Maximum number of SIP sets up to 5000 by node


− Maximum number of domains up to 255
− Maximum number of administrators per configuration list up to 255
− Increasing the number of simultaneous DPNSS and / or DASS2 (the number is proportional to
the number of declared boards)

2.3.2 Localization

− Adding Valenciano language

2.3.3 Terminals

− SIP survivability mode for IP Touch 4008/4018 Extended Edition sets (available only on the
following SIP proxy servers : Audiocodes MP-118, Cisco 2801 SRST, Teldat Atlas 150)
− MIPT secured by Passive Communication Server

2.3.4 SIP Enhancement

− SIP communications are maintained when switching-over of Call Servers


− Integration of SIP sets as native OmniPCX Enterprise sets (Native SIP Call Controller)
Refer to the technical communication TC1108 Native SIP Call Controller: White List for the list of
SIP sets which benefit from the extended level of service offered by this feature
− RFC4028 SIP implementation: Session Timer via SIP update method
− RFC2782 and RFC3263 SIP implementation: DNS RR for specifying the location of services (DNS
SRV).

2.3.5 IP Enhancement

− Implementation of the ABC-F protocol over IP trunk group


− Multi-Time Zone mono-country (for the multi-countries topic, refer to §2.4)
− Calling Line Identification per IP domain feature (112/911 emergency call feature)
− New T38 Fax Relay mode between MGD
− Enhancement of SNMP Real Time Monitoring
− VoIP tickets in real time over Ethernet
− Activation of TELNET service request in MGDs
− Remove of TELNET client in MGDs

2.3.6 "IP Touch Security" solution


− MGD signaling link encryption (Mgsec)
− Securing TELNET protocol in MGDs

2.3.7 Call Handling features

− Authorization for long-distance calls with PIN code


− Remote Extension deactivation by End user
− External called number display after call answer
− Adding 3 hard disk monitoring incidents
− Supervision ringing number manageable by a system parameter

2.3.8 Applications

− Support of Windows Vista Business edition (32 bit) for Alcatel-Lucent 4059 IP
− CCD & RSI eternal wrap-up

2.4 Features under PCS


If implementing a PCX with the features:
− Multi-Time Zone / Multi-countries (for the systems spread over several countries with or without
Multi-Time Zone)
− 802.1x TLS authentication of IP Touch 40x8 sets
− IP DR-Link on Passive Call Server
contact the Technical Support to deploy these features.

2.5 Features in test


− SIP trunking.
New carriers have begun a validation.

2.6 AAPP
Adding a new SIP terminal in the SEPLOS White list requires going through the AAPP to achieve
interoperability tests with OmniPCX Enterprise.
Any feature using the real-time VoIP over IP tickets must be validated through the AAPP.
