Abortion Is a Global Issue

Sonia Correa wrote an article titled "Abortion is a Global Political Problem" for Women's

International Network News. The topic of abortion is examined as a global political concern in

this article. Since the Ancient Romans ruled the known world and Christianity was founded, the

concept of a mother terminating her own pregnancy has been a source of contention. They didn't

believe in depopulating a planet where four out of every 100 people will die at the age of 50.

During the Inquisition, the Catholic Church permitted harsh punishment for women who aborted

their infants, as well as their midwives, if they aided in the abortion. Senator Jesse Helms

negotiated an amendment banning American aid funds from being used in abortion-related

programs after the United States ruled on the constitutionality of abortion in 1973.

In her essay, Correa demonstrates by logic and argument that abortion is a political

problem that affects the entire world. She claims that “abortion is a worldwide public health

problem,” citing the Roman Empire as an example. The planet was experiencing a depopulation

crisis at the time, and fertility was seen as a blessing. At the time, it would have been unthinkable

to murder an unborn child. The European Catholic Inquisition, for example, hunted down and

even executed anyone who would abort a fetus. Mothers and midwives were among the women

hanged, who were believed to be witches. Abortion will not be a way of life in today's world,

according to the logic of the times. Abortion was depicted as both harmful to the person and

harmful to the society in which they existed.

Abortion Is A Global Issue

Many reliable sources are used to demonstrate how abortion is a global political problem.

The Supreme Court of the United States ruled on the constitutionality of abortion in 1973.

Senator Jesse Helms authorized a condition that banned abortion-related activities from being

funded with American funds. During this time, the Right to Life campaign was gaining traction.

This movement's agents determined that the best way to get their message out was to bomb

abortion clinics and destroy the doctors who performed the procedure. At the International

Population Conference in Mexico, another big dispute erupted around abortion. The United

States cut funding to the United Nations Population Fund because the services aided abortion

access. The US Supreme Court and the Right to Life movement also have reliable sources to

back up their claims on why abortion is an issue.

When debating the political status of abortion, values and convictions are used. The

patriarchal ideas of religion, as well as its traditions and convictions, are at the root of

fundamental political action. Fundamentalists create difficulties for women by believing that by

creating various forms of life from around the world, they are maintaining culture and customs in

religions and traditions. When fundamentalists are in power, women are denied entry.

Policymakers embrace what is familiar to them by preserving further rights for males. When

geopolitical or economic gains are anticipated, governments will abandon their commitment to

women.

Abortion is legal in 189 of 193 nations, and the majority of those countries use it to save

women's lives. The abortion rates in Peru, Chile, and the Dominican Republic are 20 times

higher than in the United States. Between 1995 and 2000, 78,000 mothers died as a result of

unsafe abortions. According to reports, one out of every eight maternal deaths were caused by

complications from an abortion.

Correa claimed in this article that abortion is a political problem that affects people all

over the world. She looked at how abortion is practiced in a variety of countries. Some countries

use abortion solely to save the mother's life. Abortion is illegal in some countries. The law of the

land determines how abortion is to be carried out. Correa used persuasive reasons to demonstrate

that abortion is a political problem that affects people all over the world. This point benefited the

most from logic. She demonstrates how people's attitudes toward abortion have changed over

time. Abortion has evolved over time, from a time when no one dared to harm an innocent

unborn child, to a time when those who were involved were killed, to the present day. Abortion

is currently mostly a decision made by the baby's mother and father. The people who read this

will be affected. Considering how abortion has been handled in the past and where it stands

today in our political landscape. A member of the audience who is reading this may be swayed.

It's easy to see how she makes her claims and supports them based on the evidence she provides

in the article and how she presents them. Many arguments are given to support her case, all of

which are supported by facts. Correa demonstrates that abortion is a worldwide issue.

To summarize, abortion is a subject that is debated on a daily basis. Opposing

sides are still convinced that they are right. For all of these considerations, there is no doubt that

abortion is the right option and that it should be legalized. The fetus is alive from the moment of

conception, and even though it doesn't have a pulse or heartbeat, it is a living entity, and

terminating it is murder. Abortion not only takes the life of the fetus, but it also has detrimental

consequences for the mother and community as a whole. The paper concludes that abortion is not

the right option; rather, taking responsibility for one's actions by giving birth and caring for the

child is the right choice. The pro-life position is the correct one to take.
