A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITY

E. GENERALIZATION
You can use comparative adjectives to compare two things. For most one-syllable adjectives, add
er to make the comparative form. To compare three or more things, add est to make the
superlative form.
Comparative: The Sears Tower is Taller than the John Hancock Building.
Superlative: The Sears Tower is the tallest building in the United States.
Add er and est to some two-syllable words and use more or most (or less, or least) with others.
Always use more or most with three – syllable adjectives.
Comparative: The Chrysler Building is a more complex structure than other skyscrapers.
Superlative: The most complex structure in my town is a long bridge.
F. APPLICATION
(GROUP ACTIVITY)
Each group will construct 5 sentences using the comparative and superlative adjectives.
G. ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY
(BOARD GAME)
Activity board game. Nice board game to practice Comparatives and Superlatives. Students
will use the pictures or words in each square to make sentences. To decide if the sentence
is a Comparative or Superlative one, they roll a dice if they get an (even number) they make
comparative sentences and if it is an (odd number) they make a superlative one.
