Celebrity Culture Manifests In This Decade

Good morning I bid to everyone who has make up their time to attend my virtual talk
today entitles “Celebrity Culture Manifests In This Decade”. As all of you have
acknowledged, I was once a celebrity specifically an actress. I got myself involved in a lot of
well-known movies which make me quite famed for my acting skills. I quit acting 2 years ago
and I never regret my decision because I finally have the freedom I always longing for.

The word celebrity is define as someone who is famous, especially in areas of

entertainment such as films, music, writing or sport. Meanwhile, culture means a particular
organization or group consists of the habits of the people in it and the way they generally
behave. What is manifestation? Manifesting is the desire to have something in common like
others or thinking of your aspirational thought with the purpose of making them real. People
in today’s society look up to these famous people so much, sometimes they would follow
anything that celebrity said or did. 

Today’s society is so much scary that fans would do anything because of their idol.
They admire a certain celebrity so much that they always check up on their social media
profile to see if there are any updates from them. Too much of constant degree of
surveillance into the lives of those celebrities out there. The term for this kind of obsessed
fans is what we called they have developed ‘parasocial relationship’ with their favourite
celebrity. I have been into this situation before, as I said I was once a celebrity, it felt like
someone had trespassing my life by tweeting so much about me that even some of them
were rumours. Sometimes, it felt like they know more about your life than you actually do.

The horrible thing I had came across was fans that were willing to undergo surgery
just to look alike their favourite celebrity. One of them was an Iranian woman who has gone
viral after claiming she had 50 surgeries in a bid to look like her idol Angelina Jolie. She also
went on a drastic weight loss and which made her looked sick.
