I have learned a lot from the teacher panel that I attended in class.

Me and my fellow classmates

had the opportunity to ask a lot of questions about the music teaching field to help better prepare us for
the teaching world. I was able to get some of my own questions answered and it helped better prepare
me to teach one day. These teachers that we questioned gave us a lot of things to take note of when
teaching at a school. Here are some of the things that I learned from this
Some of the things that I have learned are ways that you can keep kids motivated in the
classroom if they are getting bored or are just placed in a band class. You can also try to build a culture
for your kids so they have somewhere safe to be at school. I have also learned on how to properly grade
students in the classroom and how not to be to aggressive with the grading. It is best to wait a while and
get to know the sound before you can actually give them a grade. Next thing I will talk about is some
things you might encounter
You might encounter a family that doesn’t have enough money to afford the instrument the
student needs to get for band class. I have learned as the band teacher I can always find a way to help
get a kid to play on an instrument. One way that you can do it could be using a school owned instrument
and have the kid get the reeds from you. There are other ways that a student can get their hands on an
instrument.
I have learned so much from this teacher panel discussion. They have told us some situations
that I might encounter as a band director and the ways to solve it. I feel I have gotten a lot of knowledge
from this. I had the opportunity to ask Amy questions to figure out how I should do something and I got
my questions answered. This has really helpful for my future job as a band teacher
