In an organization, Employees are considered as the basic unit and the foundation of what
an organization is all about. The skills of employees reflect in the overall performance of the
organization. Which is why the author identified that training these employees will help a lot in
sustaining CSR strategies. The challenge really is not coming up with strategies, rather it is on
how to sustain and make it a culture. If employees being the most basic unit in an organization is
unable to fully understand the CSR strategies that the organization intends to implement, then
you cannot expect these strategies to be successful. Disseminating sustainability and CSR
strategies can only be successfully done through training and through collective sharing
moments.
Apart from the strategies and sustainability efforts implemented, this is not fully realized
if it cannot be scrutinized public due to lack of transparency. It is important that the company be
authentic in its desire to be socially responsible. The only way to really show that authenticity is
if you are transparent with your policies and practices. Nowadays, stakeholders and consumers
are more aware of the issues that corporate social responsibility should be addressing. Among
these are, gender and development issues, climate change, diversity and many more. With
consumers seeking more and expecting more from organizations their corporate social
responsibilities, lack of transparency may send out impressions that the company doesn’t even
care at all.

It is important to identify the key persons in the organization who truly believes or is
even interested in the CSR issues. These people are usually the ones willing to go the extra mile
and dedicate some of their working time to spread CSR ambitions. These people are key to the
effective spread of the organizations CSR intentions since these people are usually the ones vocal
about it. The author also mentions that it is ideal that these people belongs to different
departments so as to have a wider reach with in the organization and as a result wider spread of
CSR influence.
Apart from knowing the reason for such CSR move, there is a need to truly dwell on the
idea and capture the essence of it. What are the use for actions that are done to comply with what
is mandated by law if the organization lack the understanding and the belief on the CSR
implemented? That is why the author believes that there should be a transformation of the
business modle to a sustainable one. There should be a sincere effort to connect this actions to
the core of the organization’s business so as to realize the root cause why the organization should
question what is next to truly transcend what is currently achieved. Something the author
considers that organization should sought after is the accreditation and certification to various
standard setting body in line with CSR topics. This way, organization may be guided in the ways
they can sustain sustainability and establish the culture and expound on it further in details in
