Course Overview:
Production Management also called operations management, planning and control of industrial
processes to ensure that they move smoothly at the required level. Techniques of production
management are employed in service as well as in manufacturing industries.

Course Objective:
To gain an understanding and appreciation of the principles and applications relevant to the planning,
design, and operations of manufacturing/service firms.

1. To develop skills necessary to effectively analyze and synthesize the many inter-relationships
inherent in complex socio-economic productive systems.

2. To reinforce useful analytical tools for operational tasks.

3. To recognize situations in a production system environment that suggests the use of quantitative
methods to assist in decision making on operations management and strategy.

4. To understand how CRP and MRPII systems are used in managing operations

5. To increase the knowledge, and broaden the perspective of the world in which the manager has to
contribute talents and leadership in business operations.
.
