COMPOST BINS

Compost bins are containers into which you place organic waste to turn into compost over time.
Compost bins can be made from wires or any durable material for small scale composting.
Most compost bins are designed to hasten the decomposition of organic matter through proper
aeration and moisture retention. Meaning it can hasten the transformation of organic materials
into compost.

TWIN PITS

Twin pits are usually made through digging into the soil. By putting twigs at the bottom and
placing a hollow tube, it serves as the air inlets. Twin pits might take months to fill up, thus
allowing enough time for the materials to decompose and mature into soil conditioner or
fertilizer.

TOWER TIRES

Tower tires composting is a great way of recycling used materials. Tires do not degrade well
in landfills so reusing them for composting is a viable alternative. In stacking the tires, do not
stack them all at once. And when making the stack it is good to stack at least 2-3 tires. After a
several weeks, the compost should be ready to use.
PLASTIC BAG COMPOSTERS

Plastic bag composting is a passive way of composting, so the materials will breakdown more
slowly, but it also requires less work. It’s mostly composed of leaves, food waste, and chopped
biodegradables. All you have to do once you set up this type of small scale of composting is to
just wait a few weeks and the compost will become safe and odorless compost that is good for
the plants.

CLAY FLOWER POTS COMPOST

Clay flowerpots composting is common these days, especially because we have a pandemic
and most titas and titos are becoming plantitas/titos. This type of small-scale composting
enables the dried-out soil of your old pot to retain more moisture and making it have more
nutrients to sustain plants. It also saves money from buying fertilizers. Because the compost
feeds the plants naturally.
