Gaining Back the Lost Time

By WM Sinsuat C. Andang, Jr.

We seldom hear now the phrase “time is of the essence" but in our craft, we always hear
the phrase "just await a time with patience.”

How important a time is undebatable. A lost time can never be recovered. But a time
spent conscientiously is worth a dime to save. Repenting for the lost time is very depressing.
How can we redeem back the time we have lost. If only we could go back to the previous time
when we spent it idly, worthlessly, extravagantly, or vainly. What a greater good we have
wasted.

Time matters so much to every one of us. Moreso if the time is spent for our family. It is
deep and fulfilling. It is unmeasurable.

This month of May is the time for Mother’s Day. There is no other extraordinary
relationship other than that of the mother, which is truly priceless in terms of her countless love,
dedication, and devotion towards her family. The month of May is truly a special month for our
mother.

During challenging times, people need their mothers. When life gets hard, people need
support. Someone going through rough times will turn to their mother. Our mother is the epitome
of encouragement and love.

For those brethren who still got their mother, let us think of how much time we could
devote to our mother. We don’t know how much time they’ve got in this world. We could still
make up for time wasted by changing our perspective and stop seeing it as a wasted time.

Call your mother if you are distantly separated from each other. If you are situated near
each other, hug them and tell them how much you are truly thankful for the gift of life and love.
Time creates great memories of your mother’s unending love and affection. It is payback time
brethren!

As we are now allowed to have face-to-face or in-person meetings with our brethren, how
I wish God could end this pandemic for us to have in-person communication with our mother.

Happy Mother’s Day mom!
