VII. Inspiring a Shared Vision
1. Choosing your Vision
● Be the person others choose to follow. Provide a vision for the future.
Provide inspiration. Make other people feel important and appreciated.
Live your values. Leadership vision is an essential means for focusing
attention on what matters most; what you want to accomplish in your life
and what kind of leader you wish to be. A useful vision has to be rooted in
your past, address the future, and deal with today's realities. It represents
who you are and what you stand for.
2. Communicating Your Vision
● Communicating your vision is quite hard but vision has to be shared in
order to do what it is meant to do – which is inspire, clarify and focus the
work.
3. Identifying the Benefit for Others
● Persuade the other person by showing them how other people will
benefit. You can point to how it will help people you care about, people
they care about, or more general society. Show how a small action from
them will make a big difference to as many other people as you can
indicate.
4. Developing Your Inner Innovator
● Innovation is a question of mindset, and creating that mindset precedes
everything else. To develop your inner innovator, you should develop your
potential to become more innovative and creative person. Innovating can
help you to find new solutions to the current issues and to generate new
useful ideas. 5. Seeing Room for Improvement
● Opportunity for enhancement, that’s what room for improvement means.
We all know that everyone can fail even though they already doing their
best. But these failures are meant to remind us that there is always room
for improvement. You have to discover and improve something to come
up to the goal you’ve always wanted.
6. Encouraging Growth in Others
● Learning how to encourage growth in others is considered as a part of
leadership that is important.
7. Creating Mutual Respect
● This helps them to feel respected and helps you to earn their mutual
respect as well. One of the best ways to create an environment of mutual
respect is to demonstrate respectful behavior on a daily basis
8. The Importance of Thirst
● A leader who is hungry for learning not only acquires knowledge but
gathers additional benefits. Staff thirsty for knowledge is a staff thirsty
for success
