 Rowan Atkinson
Early life

Rowan Sebastien Atkinson is a British actor, comedian and writer. He was born on 6
January 1955 in County Durham ,England. His father was Eric Atkinson who worked
as a farmer, and his mother was Ella May Atkinson. Rowan had three elder
brothers, unfortunately one of his brothers Paul passed away when he was still an
infant.

Rowan had a religious upbring, and he attended the Anglican church along with his
brothers. He was very serious regarding his studies. After receiving great grades
in Science for his A levels, he attended Newcastle University. From then on he
persevered with his education and he was able to obtain a degree of MSc in
Electrical Engineering at the Queen’s College in Oxford.

Movie Career

Atkinson showed a great interest to be in the media field. He started off with a
series of comedy for BBC Radio. He first appeared on television in 1979 in a
programme called Canned Laughter. He then took on several roles, such as in the
series the “ Blackadder”. The series was very successful and popular with the
British nation. He also played the role of the comical character Mr Bean. Mr Bean
first appeared on New Year’s Day 1990, in a half hour special for Thames
television. Several sequels to Mr Bean appeared on television until 1995.

People really enjoyed Mr Bean as it portrayed a goofy character.

He was often unaware of the basic aspects of the way that the
world works. He often found ridiculous ways to try and fix a
problem. He usually wore a brown tweed jacket over his shirt. His

best friend was a teddy bear called ‘Teddy.’ Even though Mr Bean rarely spoke a
word, this was a great entertainment for the audience.

Atkinson has also played other important roles. He has performed well in the
trilogy of Johnny English. He is regarded as a prominent British actor that has
contributed much to his profession. He has a worldwide fan
base that really loves his role, especially that of Mr Bean.
Many adults now state that part of enjoying their childhood,
was due to the Mr Bean character. They found it hilarious and
hysterical. In October 2018 Atksinson as (Mr Bean) received
Youtube’s Diamond Play Button. This is because his channel had
surpassed 10 million subscribers. It is still amongst one of the most watched
channels, and in 2018 it had 6.5 billion views.

Personal life

Atkinson married Sunetra Sastry in February 1990.The

couple first met in the late 1980’s when she was working as a
make-up artist. They have two children, Benjamin and Lily.
However, in 2014 they separated and in 2015 they were
divorced. He has now been in a relationship with actress
Louise Ford, and she gave birth to his third child, a daughter
named Isla.

View on life

Rowan Atkinson states that he is a romantic person. He is also someone that

focuses on his dreams. He loves to be with harmony with his true nature, though
sometimes he can fall to moodiness, or become aloof, and withdrawn. Rowan
Atkinson has a broad outlook on life. He tends to see the big picture, rather than
the minute details. Rowan naturally attracts people from all walks of life who can
fit into his larger plans and take over the areas he finds uninteresting.
