Objective: Familiarize with the importance and usage of citing sources
Activity 1
Directions: Study the following format and examples of Bibliographies for different
sources.
Bibliography – is a list of specific references. In research writing, this list is important so that
the researchers can easily go back to any particular book or article to take notes for their study.

Referencing is a standardised way of acknowledging the sources of information and

ideas that are used in a research papers and which allows the sources to be identified.

Referencing is important to avoid plagiarism, to verify quotations and to enable

readers to follow up what have been written and more fully understand the cited author’s
work.

APA (American Psychological Association) style is most commonly used to cite

sources within the social sciences.
