Personally, I have never bought from the UK because things there always look
expensive to me (the POUNDS factor). So I will be showing you how to order
from USA here, although the processes are almost the same, or even VERY the
same.
I am not going to start defining eBay and Amazon but the whole world know
them to be the world largest online stores.
You can visit the two sites and browse through the products they have in stock.
They are very easy to navigate, just like Aliexpress. The beauty of these sites
anyway is that, there are so many stuffs you can buy, from new the used, to
refurbished.
For Amazon, they don’t ship anything electronics and many other stuffs to
Nigeria, they only ship books here and for eBay, you will hardly find a seller that
ships to Nigeria, most of them avoid Nigerians because our YAHOO guys had
some bad records with them. You can easily use your Paypal account to pay for
goods on ebay and you can employ the services of the shipping companies I told
you earlier on.
So to be able to successfully buy stuffs and get them to Nigeria from EBAY &
AMAZON, we need to use a third party site. There are many of them out there,
www.valuehandlers.com , www.micostarmall.com ,www.myus.com ,
www.MyAmericanShipper.com , www.Shippyme.com and
www.CircuitAtlantic.com .
www.myus.com is the most popular among them
Why? Because they combine all the features… but they are the most expensive.
Combines all the features? Let me explain what I mean…
MyAmericanShipper.com – Will only give you a free address for you to ship
your items to. When the items get to the address, you can then arrange a
shipment with them.
But MYUS.com will let you buy and ship to the personal address they will give
you. And yet, they can still handle the payment and the shipment but the
payment attracts a 10% charge on every item they buy for you.
You can pay all of these sites using your Nigerian cards. You can
visit their website or read the FAQs pages to learn more about
them.
All you have to do is to change your shipping address to the one given to you
by MyUs or valuehandlers.
You billing address should remain your home address or the one that you
opened the account with. And you are good to go
The fact is, anyone can buy from Amazon departmental stores but there are
some destination delivery restrictions of certain items to certain countries for
reasons best known them.
The good news is that Amazon do online transactions, accept payments from
Nigeria without having to go through the back door. Read on...
Firstly, you can only buy books, gift cards, and flowers from Amazon, have
them shipped directly by Amazon to Nigeria with any of the locally issued
debit card information by any of the Nigerian banks.
Take note, you don't need to change your Nigeria IP address, Amazon accepts
Nigerians, both to sell and to buy goods on their platform.
The valid US suite number, address and number provided by the US Virtual
Office Address company will serve as the shipping address...The also provide
you with a tracking system with chosen courier service under their
platform(DHL or FEDEX) to track your goods on transit till the get to your
doorstep here in Nigeria.
This is 100% legitimate, and you can't mess around it because during setup
and verification with MyUs.com, your real ID and source of payment will be
confirmed.
• Get any of Nigerian banks issued card [Verve, Master or Visa], GTBank
and Zenith rock good for me.
• Watch out for when Amazon will be offering discounts and rebate
pricing, this could happen at special times and seasons of the year especially
MothersDay, Easter, Christmas, New Year Eve, or festive times, Black Friday or
Cyber Monday( a Friday before the thanksgiving or Monday after
thanksgiving), at such times, you could get 50 to 70% OFF on price tags.
First, you need find the item you want to buy. Let’s say I want to buy a
phone on eBay
So when doing your own, you may want to copy those details from the page of
the product you are buying.
After that, MyUs, will send you a confirmation email, to let you know they
have received you order.
Then they will try to go ahead with the purchase. If they are able to, they will
then charge your card (automatically). If they are not able to buy (maybe the
item/listing is sold out), they will email you to let you know.
When your item arrived at MyUs, they will email you again. You will have to
arrange the shipment. You can find the items you have in your inbox.
On this, if you have some more packages to buy or that you already bought and
are coming there; just wait for it to come.
When you are finally ready to ship your items, they will ask you to choose a
shipping method. I have always used FEdex Express… DHL seem to be the best,
but carrying batteries is an issue with them.
You can pay all of these 3 sites using your Nigerian cards. You can read
their FAQs.
If you want to use MyAmericanShipper or you want to avoid the 10% charges by
MyUs.com when buying from eBay… There is an absolutely easy way to do it…
Just talk to Mr. Presegs Adesida. There are two things he can do for you:
To maximize your profit you have to buy more items. When you have many items
to ship, the shipping cost on each item is automatically reduced. If you want to
buy one Blackberry Bold 5, try to buy 4-5 smaller/cheaper phones. Or else, the
shipping fee won’t make it worth your time.
You can actually devalue your items, especially with MyUs. What I mean is this, on
every product you buy; there is always a declared value. So in order to escape
these custom thieves, make sure your final value is less than $600. I always keep
mine around $450 and always make sure your goods are marked as gifts. Please
talk to MyUs agents for info on how to do this.
How to market Your Products
Now this is the hard part but without it there is no business and hence no
profit.
There are several ways you can sell your stuffs. The easiest one is WORD OF
MOUTH. Yeah, talk to people in your neighborhood; let them know you have the
items in stock. Why not become a wholesaler to the retailers around you?
You can even go ahead and open up your own shop in your area and specialize on
sales of some items. That’s doable too.
You can also create a Fan Page on Facebook to advertise the items you have in
stock. For this to be effective, you might have to spend some money on Facebook
Advertisement
Put your contact details and people will contact you every now and then.
You can also list your items on OLX.com, Dealfish.com, Kamyu.com, etc
The best way anyway is to create a website for this. You don’t even need the
website to be an ecommerce one; even blogspots are not bad to display your
items. Although the more professional it is, the better.
You can’t overdo when it comes to selling what is real.
Soon, you will get some regular customers and you won’t have to do much
advertising again (although, I strongly advise not to stop advertising).
