KAHAANI 2 : LEGAL REVIEW

Our review will be based on Bollywood film kahaani 2 , which was released in
2016 .The story revolve around “ Durga Rani singh” protagonist ,who had
experienced child abuse in her child marriage. Which had affected her
personal and a bit professional life. She works in a school where she come
across a girl and suspect her going through child abuse after collecting
evidences .She sent went to police but receives no help , the person accused of
child abuse is dominant person dominating the police. In lieu of saving girl she
ends up accidently murdering child’s grandmother .This makes her accused of
kidnapping and murdering , some how after 8 years child’s uncle come to know
about both Durga Rani singh (who changed her identity and now she called
vidya Sinha) and again the child girl child.
In this legal review, However the films deals with child abuse , child marriage ,
murder and kidnapping .Our research will focus on child marriage and abuse
,it’s impact of victim’s life and society. This film question on relation of law
and morality and failure in functioning of police as institution drew our
attention to this film also this film perfectly depict the real society towards the
victim and common man without any sugar coating and that’s why we chose
this film as our research topic.
