ELECTRICAL FIRE PUMP CHECK LIST

Is pump stabilised by using anchorage nuts and grout? ( The concrete base for

pump shall weigh minimum 2.5 times than pump itself.) DETAY - A
Are the suction and discharge pressure gages installed?

(The one starting with "- 30" to suction and one starting with "0" to discharge.)

3 Is air releasing valve installed on the pump?

Are the suction and discharge valves' connections controlled?

(At the suction for smooth flow OS&Y gate valve shall be used.)
After discharge of electrical fire pump, is the system tested at 1.5 times of working

pressure?
Are the drain lines of packing pocket on electrical fire pump and casing relief valve

installed? (Casing relief valve line will be separate from the others.)
Pressure sensing line pump side shall be taken between check valve and butterfly
valve at discharge line. At the line there will be 2 ball valve and 2 check valves. Ball
valves will not cut the line, they will be installed by taking branch from the line
7 (purpose is drainage).
Check valves on the line will look to the opposite side of controller.These check
valves will be 1/2" and at their clapper there will be 3mm orifices. (Piping has to be
stainless steel or bronze) DETAY - B
8 Is the wiring done between controller and the motor?

Is the wiring done to the controller from main supply?

The wires will be connected by either entering from side or bottom of controller.
9 Note: If there is also power transfer switch, then from the generator at the system 2
x 1.5 signal cable will be wired to transfer switch side.
(The hole to the controller for wiring has to be opened by punch.)
Is flowmeter line installed?
Flowmeter line (pump flow test) will be taken between check valve and butterfly
10 valves at discharge line as shown at NFPA. The return of the line will be to the fire
water tank. (If elbow will be at flowmeter line then it will be done as shown at detay-
c.) DETAY - C
Suction and discharge pipes of fire pump have to be fixed with using "U" bolts. The
11 lines should be withstand to run at 100% and 150% capacities of fire pump rated.
Are these studies done at the system?
