Application:

Identify the gestalt principle applied in each of the following learning

activities. Discuss your answer with a learning partner.

Law of continuation1. The teacher relates a new topic with something

the student already knows.

Law of similarity 2. Topics with commonalities are taught next to each

other.

Law of figure and ground 3. The most important words in the

paragraph are written in bolder fonts.

Law of figure and ground 4. The teacher slows down her pace and
varies her tone of voice to emphasize a point.

Law of proximity 5. Teacher remind children to keep their numbers in

straight columns when doing math operations.
 Formulate 5 items like the ones you went through then exchange
work with your learning partner. Your learning partner answers the 5
items you prepare while you also answer what your learning partner
made.

Directions: Write the correct gestalt principle of each number.

1. A teacher presented 16 dots arranged horizontally and vertically with
4 dots in every line. The teacher asks how many squares could they
find out of the given dots.

2. You create a list of 14 learner centered psychological principles. You

use different colors in writing it. Blue font for the cognitive and
metacognitive factor, yellow for motivational and affective factors,
Red for developmental and social factors and Green for individual
differences factors.

3. You want to stress the fact that several words or shapes share a
common bond, then you can arrange them on the page so that
everybody are able to see that they are connected.

4. To apply this law, you want to keep things simple and straightforward.

5. This law stipulates that items close together may be a part of a larger
entity, because our mind craves completion.
