Cooking assignment: Part 1

1. Choose a recipe that has been provided or you can choose your own as long as it has
a minimum of 5 fractions.
2. What are the ingredients? Write out a shopping list with the correct amount you will
need. (for example if you need 2 cups of flour you will need 1 bag of flour) You will
need to get the ingredients so that everyone in the class can have 1 serve.
3. You may need to make some adjustments to the ingredient amounts. For example if
the recipe serves 6 how much more do you need to serve 30 students?
4. Write down ways in which could have possible saved money.
5. You will need to present all of your working out and final ingredient amounts in a
neat and logical way.

Part 2
Imagine you were doing this for a stall
at lunchtime carnival. Calculate the
ingredients for the whole school (600).

How much would you sell the serves

for? and how much profit would you


make?
