EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Toyota motor corporation, commonly known as Toyota is a Japanese


multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota, Aichi, Japan.

It was founded by kiichiro Toyota and incorporated on August 28,1937(1937-


08-28).in 2017,Toyota corporate structure consisted of 364,445 employees
.Worldwide and, as of December 2019,was the Tenth-largest company in the
world by revenue.

Toyota is the largest automobile manufacturer in the world followed by


Volkswagen Group, based on 2020 unit sales. Toyota was the world’s first
automobile manufacturer to produce more then 10 million vehicles per year,
which it has done since 2012,when it also was the largest listed company in
Japan by market capitalization (Worth more than twice as much as number 1-
ranked softbank) and by revenue.

The study widely concentrates on the level of satisfaction amongst customers


for which I did Exploratory Research to check the satisfaction level amongst
the customers TOYOTA.

Chapter-1 Introduction of the company

1.1 INTRODUCTION
In 1933 company was founded by kiichiro Toyota. In 1934 department of
Toyota industries manufactured first products called type A engine and it’s
First car AA in 1936. Toyota bought some other Companies also and own and
operates Lexus, yamaha, and Mitsubishi Aircraft corporation. All these and
some other in total includes around 522 subsidiaries

Toyota is headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi and in Tokyo Instead of


automobile toward also provides Financial Service through each its division
Toyota financial services and also builds robots for different industries Toyota
Motor corporation it is Financial Service Centre to Adventist it all together
form the bulk of the to Toyota group and one of the largest conglomerates in
the world.

Toyota each worldwide famous and well known company because of their
high quality manufactured cars, Toyota to is doing very well and growing very
fast globally they have their operations, manufacturing facilities and valuable
loyal customer all over the world the new technology Hybrid in Toyota cara
gave a new pride to Toyota and the sales of Toyota going up day by day. In
fast few years Toyota become number one in automotive industry and became
a number one in mostly selling their cars worldwide. Below chart show the
fingers of manufactured car’s 2008 and the showing other companies
production also .

In 2008 Toyota overtook GM and Automotive industries and announced
Toyota the world biggest carmaker but after that complain started Arising and
more customers stated blaming blaming about the quality controls because of
their repid expansion. Due to the repaid expansion they recalled more than
eight million car’s in years 2009 the break and accelerator defects and bearing
defending their selves against 98 lawsuits due to the deaths, injuries and
damages happened to customers who were using their car’s.

Toyota products were in high demand worldwide and they had a time when
they felt they might not be able to meet the demand of customers but they were
selling as normal routine and increase the production with huge volumes and
increase the manufacturing speed. Contacted and started working with more
suppliers for different parts which they are use to buy from different suppliers.
Toyota Executives and Mr. Akio Toyoda had a strong feeling that working
with new and more suppliers might give a bad impact for their quality and they
might not be able to control well. They had very busy and high demand for
their cars instead of finding good solution to cope this situation they don't give
for more alternatives like booking reservation for cars instead of doing 20 they
focus on prepaid expansion

3.1 Making clean car’s


Toyota has positioned global environmental preservation as a priority

manufacturing at all stages of the vehicle life cycle

To reduce greenhouse gases such as CO2 and atmospheric pollutants such as


HC, CO and NOx, Toyota is engaged in the development of cleaner emissions
vehicles with higher efficiency. Understanding that widespread adoption is
necessary for clean vehicles to have a significant effect as an environmental
solution, Toyota is aiming to create cars with both excelling environmental
and driving performance that appeal to consumer.

In production and logistics stages, Toyota takes industry leading initiatives on
global warming mitigation, reduction of toxic substances and conservation of
water and other resources. We also plant indigenous trees in our plants to
environment.

4.2 CO2 reduction during production

We have set combined CO2 reduction targets for our plants and offices
and are taking measures to reduce emissions.

4.3 CO2 reduction during transportation

Toyota is reducing CO2 emissions during car and parts transportation by


shutting from road transport to rail and marine transportation distance,
implementing a modal shift reducing the total transport distance, and
improving fuel efficiency.

Towards its vision of Zero casualties, Toyota is engaging in activities in the


three area’s safe vehicle development, creation of safe track environments and
driver and pedestrian awareness.

5.1 Developing Innovative Safety Features

Toyota not only meets the safety standards of each market, but independently
sets still higher targets and works to develop safety technology of world
leading levels. To help ensure that it’s safety technologies address the type of
accidents that frequently take place in the real world Toyota bases it’s product
development bon actual accident statistics.

Toyota aims to provide collision avoidance support and reduce damage in rear
end collisions and the leading cause of fatalities.

• Lane departure prevention support


Lane departure prevention support aims to reduce head on collisions but lane
departure, which account for a large portion of fatalities among vehicle
occupation.

Nighttime vision support aims to enable early detection of pedestrians to


help prevention accident involving pedestrians crossing the street, many of
which happen at night.

Chapter -6 Toward a Safer Trac Environment

Toyota is undertaking various initiatives to realize intelligent transport


system as a way of reducing trac accidents. The initiatives invovle the
creation of a trac system that views people, vehicles and roads as an
integrated whole, and the fusion of vehicles and information
communication system.

6.1 Protecting occupants and pedestrians


Based on analysis of actual accidents, virtual collisions simulation and
collisions tests are conducted over 1,600 times a year, Toyota develops safe
vehicle collides, the vehicle’s body absorbed and disperses the impact to
secure cabin to protect the occupants. Pedestrian safety is also taken into
consideration in developing body structures.

6.2 Trac Safety Education

Toyota provides driver with safe driving education, presents children with
trac safety learning aids and carries out activities to heighten awareness among
pedestrians of the important of reactive materials.

Prototype vehicles are evaluated based on Toyota world leading standards for
safety, durability, and quality when testing the vehicles, we take into account
the way car’s are used by our customer in different driving environments
around the global Evaluation test results are fed back into the design process to
help generate product designs.

6.6 Building in quality with production engineering

Toyota to develop highly efficient production equipment and process for mass
production to ensure quality our production engineer are in involved form the
early stage in the vehicles development with designer, production teams and
suppliers to draw up plans that build quality into the product and make

production easier. The latest technologies to measure and analysis the works of
manufacturing processes enable production teams to address we potential
problem ls before be fore defects surface. Even if a defect occurs we
immediately stop the production line and never send the defect on to the next
process.

Chapter-7 Toyota Production System Taking Root Worldwide

In response to globally expanding demand, Toyota vehicles are now produced


in plants spreading to 28 countries and region’s in addition to Japan. In
implementing the Toyota production system at those plants the important
element is our people, under our belief that manufacturing is about developing
people throughout the world, based on a common set of values.

7.1 Toyota production System (TPS)

TPS is the fundamental concept of Toyota’s manufacturing based on the


customer First principles. It aims to achieve high quality, prompt delivery and
low costs by thoroughly eliminating waste. Supporting TPS are and just in
time, know as the two pillars of TPS.

7.2 Globalization of production

At Toyota production system learning center in the United States, the United
Kingdom and Thailand, production supervisory staff receive training. Trainees
from various countries in the respective regions take the expertise and
techniques back with team to their own plants, where they work as leaders in
the training of other team members. TPS promotion center is promoting new

Mutual prosperity based on mutual trust is the goal shared with our suppliers.
We provide open and fair opportunities for entry to any suppliers wishing to
conduct business with us. When selecting suppliers, we take into account no
only quality, cost, technology and delivery reliability, but also their
management attitude toward CSR and kaizan, or continuous improvement,
from the initial stages of development suppliers are expected to work with us
in everything from deciding how components are to be manufactured to how
they are used in the vehicle, with the primary goal in this process being
product safety.

8.1 Satisfying Every Customer

Toyota delivers vehicles to our customers in over 160 countries and regions.
The key to keeping our customer satisfied is to make every possible effort to
understand their needs and to help them know more about Toyota vehicles, the
cornerstone of all this is people. Toyota has established training centers around
the world to nurture it’s team member. Our local operation also play an
important role for early detection and solution of product problems. Customer
complaints and other technical information are collected through technical

offices in each region and our integrated Quality information system, and fed

expanding field trials at medical facilities to Achieve early real life application
of it’s rehabilitation robots and has also established a structure for promoting

Toward enriching communities and achieving their sustainable development,


Toyota is advancing it’s social contribution activities by working together with
a wide range of various levels of society, while putting available resources to
the most effective use possible. We have set the environment, traffic safety,
and we plan to add area’s as needed, to match the social needs of each region.

Toyota’s motor vehicle production contracted by 14.4 percent to reach around

commercial vehicles and vehicles sold under the Daihatsu and Hino brands.
Toyota Motor’s net revenue in the fiscal year 2021 amounted to over 27

In 2018, Toyota was regarded as being behind in smart car technology and in
need of innovation the company invested $4 billion in a robotics and AI
research institute to create safer vehicles. Alongside the robotics and AI centre,
Toyota launched a $2.8 Billion dollar Self-Driving Car Company called
Toyota Research Institute-Advanced Development, or TRI-AD automotive
supplier Aisin Seiki and Denso.

Toyota invested $500m in the driverless car company Uber with the ambition
to build the combined technology into Toyota’s Sienna minivans, to be used
on Uber’s ride-hailing network from 2021.In 2019 Toyota partnered with
Chinese electronics e-commerce company and its subsidiary to build a Smart

• Major recalls, economic crisis natural disasters and intense global


competition have posted serious challenge for Toyota.

• Toyota must sustain its competitive advantages to retain it’s position


and achieve future success.
