COMPUTER MODEL
Inplace analysis model modified to suit seismic analysis model
1 Ensure that the material density is increased in group card to account for
weight contingency for the self weight.
2 Definition of master nodes in the model.
LOADS
3 Load description and calculation as per the inplace analysis
No need to include self-weight case in the load combinations as the same
is generated by DYNPAC module
4 Load contingencies
5 Check for load combinations (Self Weight not required to be included)
SINGLE PILE ANALYSIS INPUT FILE
6 PSI Input data similar to Inplace Analysis
7 Pile head forces and displacements for determination of pile stub
Initial run is with the inplace analysis pilehead forces. Subsequent runs shall
consider forces in the pile stub from the seismic analysis till the pile
stub top deflections converge
DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS (DYNPAC ANALYSIS)
8 Number of modes as per BoD (Minimum 10)
9 Added mass co-efficients
10 All load cases are picked up
DYNAMIC RESPONSE (DYRINP FILE)
11 Peak Ground Acceleration data (for SLE and DLE)
12 Distribution along horizontal and vertical directions (100% & 50%)
13 Damping, solution methodology, response spectrum (SRSS, CQC)
ANALYSIS RESULTS
(A) DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS
14 Enclose mode shape and natural period data (rule out local modes)
15 Enclose mass participation factor data (cumulative mass participation factors
shall be at least 99% along horizontal directions and 90% along vertical)
16 Enclose mode shape plots for review
17 Check total mass against the gross load
(B) DYNAMIC RESPONSE
18 Enclose base shear and overturning moment along horizontal directions
19 Enclosed combined data for SLE, DLE and compare results.
(C) STATIC ANALYSIS RESULTS
20 Enclose seastate summary and review the combined load case summary
(D) COMBINED ANALYSIS RESULTS (STATIC + DYNAMIC RESPONSE)
21 Enclose member Unity Check summary and review results
22 Enclose joint Unity Check summary and review results
(Ensure Fy=2/3Fu for CHORDS of high strength members)
23 Enclose deflection plots
24 Enclose single pile analysis results for pile stub data

25 Enclose single pile analysis results for pile penetration adequacy based on
final seismic analysis pile stub forces
26 Enclose pile factor safety calculations for the penetration based on final
pile head/stub forces.

Check for the platform configuration to satisfy API RP 2A, clause 2.3.6
criteria. If there is a major variation of the configuration, reconfirm
adequacy of the structure by running a seismic collapse analysis.

The allowable stress modifiers for SLE and DLE analysis shall be considered
as per API RP 2A recommendations. The same shall be input in the joint
can check input file (JCNINP.XXX).

In case of dynamically sensitive structure with a heavy topside, the pile

size and penetration shall be governed by the results of DLE analysis and
a dynamic inplace analysis with inertial load distribution along the platform
height, whichever is critical.
Note : CHECKER TO TICK MARK (√) AGAINST EACH ITEM
1 This check list forms part of self-check on the document before the same is passed for internal discipline check.
2 This check list should be submitted with first two revisions of the document (at Single Discipline Check and issued for
Client comments stages).
3 If the checker has any specific comments, the same shall be marked on the hard copy of the report/document.
