Revision to OST Guidelines for year 2021

Some students have given feedback that due to the prolonged lockdown and associated
restrictions; they are finding it difficult to get a company approved OST. In view of this
challenge students will be permitted to take up online OST without formal approval from
the company and in an online mode, though OST with Company approval is preferred.
In this regard students may take note that they are expected to maintain a daily work done
report and ensure they log in a minimum total of 60 hours over a period of 15 days to
complete the online OST (this is exclusive of the hours spent on OST MOOC). Students should
submit the Work Done Diary along with the OST report to their respective faculty mentor.
Refer Annexure 1 for the Work Done Diary format.
All other guidelines regarding the OST project remain unchanged.
However, it may be noted that there are nearly 80% of students who through persistent efforts
have been able to secure a company approved OST and it is felt that this effort should be
recognized in the evaluation of the OST project. Therefore, the evaluation of the OST project
will be revised as follows:
