My Birthing Story

Life can be full of surprises. There are heartbreaking and disappointing

situations that you need to experience. But it is not always painful and unbearable,
there will also times that you feel extreme happiness that you never imagined you
will experience in your lifetime.

One of the most remarkable scenes that I encounter, treasure and reminisce
from time to time is the day I gave birth to my only son. I never imagined that I
will both feel extreme pain and immeasurable happiness at the same time.

It was one evening of December 2014, when I was preparing to bed and
suddenly felt my water broke. I read multiple resources online so I anticipated
every turn of events that happened during that time. I immediately went to my
aunt to inform her of my situation and that prompted her to call the municipal
ambulance which I rode to the hospital in the next town. I can remember vividly
the excitement I felt when I learned I am about to give birth. I also remember the
excruciating pain that I unimaginably surpassed that evening. The journey to the
hospital was not long but the thoughts in my head continuously bothered me. I
even thought of how many patients died in the stretcher where I lied. What a
spooky thought. Having no experience being hospitalized I was very new to the
idea of riding an ambulance and staying the night at a hospital.

After a few minutes I finally arrived at the hospital after few documents are
filled out. I was immediately admitted in the birthing area of the hospital. I
witnessed how the other expectant mothers went in and out of the delivery room. I
felt mix of emotions when it was my time to give birth. The happiness and
excitement of finally meeting a child you bore for months. Felt fear and being
anxious because I worry that something wrong will happen and I also felt the
extreme pain that every mother felt while giving birth. And then after few push, the
most precious life was brought out to the world. I can still remember his first cry
and how they put him to my chest. It was the rawness of the situation that made it
perfect. The pain and anxiety was all worth it after you see the face of your
precious baby. Nothing will surpass the happiness of a mother to finally give birth
to a precious life and hold it to her arms. And that, the day I gave birth is the most
perfect scene in my life.
