Installing VLC Media Player

Installing using the .exe installer package in Windows 7.

Note:In other Windows OS versions the installation steps might not look exactly the
same but is basically

Locate and open your downloaded .exe installation file (vlc-2.1.0-win32.exe or vlc-
2.1.0-win64.exe)

1. If a security warning appears saying that the publisher could not be verified,

click on “Run”.

3. If it asks for other permissions on Windows click on “Yes” as well.

5. Select a preferred language for your installation and click on “Ok”.
6. The installation process will begin. Hit next to move on to the next step.
7. Review the license agreement and click on next to continue.

9. Choose the components that you want to install. The default option works
great but you might want to review them. Here are some information about
the componentsMedia Player (Required): Installs VLC Media Player. This
option is by default selected and cannot be deselected/modified.
Start Menu Shortcut: Place a VLC menu on Windows start menu for your
convenience.
Desktop Shortcut: Place a shortcut icon to your desktop for easy launch.
Web Plugins: Mozilla and Active X Plugins for playing/streaming web videos
directly from your browser(s).
Discs Playback: To play DVD and CD inserted into your PC.
File Type Associations: To set VLC as the default player for certain file types.
Individual file types can also be selected.
Audio: Association with all popular audio files.
Video: Association with all popular video file formats.
Others: Association with other file fomats such as .asx, .b4s, .bin.
Context Menus: Add “Play with VLC” and “Add to VLC’s Playlist” in your right
 click menu.
Delete Preferences and caches: To delete saved preferences and caches from
the previous installation.

10. Choose a location in your disk where you want to install VLC media player.
The default settings is good enough but you can change it according to your
preference.
11. The installation will progress and the progress bar will increase as the
process moves forward.
12. Once the installation completes, the following confirmation/completion
screen is shown.

13. You have successfully completed the installation of VLC Media Player. If you
had checked “Run VLC media player” in the previous step, then the player will
 run for the first time. It looks something like this:

Congratulations, you have just installed yourself a great new and awesome player
for your computer. Remember the traffic cone which is the icon of this amazing
player. Click on the cone every time you have to listen or play some media files.
How to Install Microsoft Office
Step 1: To install a new standalone Microsoft Application, such as Word or Project, first make
sure you don’t have any old copies installed on your computer. If you do, remove these first as
they may otherwise affect the installation for your new version.
 Click on the Windows Start button and select Control Panel.
 Select Programs and Features and then look for the Office product you’re trying to install in the
list of programs under Uninstall or change a program.
 If you see an old copy in the list, then click Uninstall and follow the instructions. Alternatively,
see our guide about how to uninstall Office software.

Step 2: Open your web browser and go to: https://setup.office.com/downloadoffice/ and login
with your Microsoft Account

Step 3: You’ll see a page asking you to enter the Product Key for the application you want to
install. Enter your product key, country or region, and language., then click Next.
 Note: make sure you use the same product key you were given with your purchase. Product
keys can only usually be used with one copy of a software program on one computer. If you
don’t have a valid key, you’ll first need to get one by purchasing the Office app you want to
install

Step 4: Follow the download and installation instructions then click Run when you see the
prompt to open the installer
 Note: you may be asked to close some programs if you have any Office apps active while trying
to run the installation

Step 5: You’ll get another notification once the installation is complete, and then you’re all good
to go! Just close the installer and open up your new Office application.
WinRAR Download and Installation Guide
You can download WinRAR from many sources but I usually like to get them
from the site publisher’s site located here.

When you select the version of WinRAR you need from the page, it will bring
up a window asking you to save the program. Click “Save File”

A – Click “Save File” to save RaRlab’s WinRAR to your computer.

Open the folder that contains the “WinRAR-release version.exe” file and
click on the file to run the install process.

After you click the WinRAR install file, it will begin the install process by
bringing up the install window. Make sure to review the terms of the license
before you click “Install”

A – Read the terms and conditions for Win Rar and then click “Install”

After you click Install, WinRAR will bring up a Setup window that allows you
to choose what files templates you would like to associate with WinRAR.
Select the file templates that you would like but I left that section alone. I
did however check the box that asks to “Add WinRAR to Desktop” and “Add
WinRAR to Start Menu.” After you select your options, click “OK”

A – Select the file types you would like to associate with WinRAR
B – If you would like to have a shortcut for WinRAR added to the desktop
and the start menu, check the boxes.
C – Click Okay once you have chosen the setup options for the WinRAR
install.

It will quickly install the compression/UnRAR program and bring up a new

window asking you for your next action. Either you “Run WinRAR” or click
“Done” to run it at a later time.

A – Click “Done” and now you are ready to use WinRAR.
