Law on Obligation and Contracts really plays a big role to everyone.

Each one of us live by these laws. A law is a set of rules designed to
regulate relations between humans and between humans and objects. Well
for me as a student who live in a rented apartment, then that alone is
governed by the law that you must pay the rented amount to the owner of
the said apartment. If not, certain measures would apply, like negligence to
my part. Then I could be fined for a specific amount by the owner. Another
thing would the internet service I am locked in to, I must pay a monthly fee
on time for the service they give me otherwise the provider would
disconnect the internet. You leave the house and walk down the street,
traffic laws are designed to be safe and convenient. It’s not really hard to
find examples of contracts in everyday life. In fact, you enter contracts daily
without even thinking about it. You are entering a contract when you make
a purchase at a grocery store, order a meal in a fastfood restaurant, or
even receiving treatment from your physician. You are entering a contract
when you ride a taxi when you commute, there is an agreement that you
must arrive safely on your destination without any harm and you pay the
service and there is something of value that each of the parties agree to
give to exchange to complete the contract. Everyday if you just follow rules
and not abide anything then you are safe or should I say you live with a
happy heart and free of guilt. But then again there are certain
circumstances that you as a person cannot fulfil an obligation due to
fortuitous event. Fortuitous event is any event which cannot be forseen or
which, though foreseen, is inevitable. It is an event that is impossible to
avoid. Example of this is when you are about to pay a thing to a certain
creditor and you were robbed, there’s nothing you can do about it. You
must tell your creditor about the matter then certain things must be applied.
Another example is when your car is still on the process of payment and
suddenly heavy rain occurred and flood came that wrecked your car. Then
you must inform the company of the situation to exempt you from the
liability of paying the car’s damages. Anyway, there are insurances
involved. Well, me as a business management student, I can use
obligations and contracts when the time I graduate and put up my own
business. I can use my knowledge in the business world like when there is
negligence on the other party where I am signed in with a contract then I
should know how to deal with it. Know what acts or omissions punishable
by law. Even though I’m still a student I can be able to apply these laws.
For example, when paying my tuition, I should collect or receive a receipt
for the payment I made. If not then there is negligence on the part of the
registrar or finance office. They must issue every student a receipt because
it is stated in the law and it is your right. It is really important to know
Obligations and Contracts, every business-minded people know this. When
you and your co-owners agreed on something on your company then there
is an agreement, so there are rules you must follow in order to make your
business work on its best capacity. My course somehow depends on the
obligations and contracts. Well we all know that dealing with business or
business cannot survive without these laws implemented. Not just the
students and my course but also the Filipino people must know the use of
these laws. Every citizen must know its purpose and right in everything
they do or acquire. Ignorance of the law excuses no one as they say, but
it’s true. Every Filipino must know the rights. Not all Filipinos really get the
chance to study so it’s out of their coverage the laws given by government.
I think it’s time for the government to step up pertaining this matter because
each and every Filipino must have the knowledge for them to be able to
connect and communicate properly with others who are lucky enough to
have an education which they can’t afford as of the moment. It’s just unfair
to know that the government doesn’t really care for its people. What If
foreigners would come to a certain place here in our country, and that place
lack information on our laws? Then the people who invested in the
businesses of these foreigners are about to be scammed if ever the
intentions of these people are far from good. The government must have a
program to inform and state the laws to every Filipino like seminars, or
organizations that support the growth of the people and the country. In this
way they can make the people more productive and not being able to be
easily mistreated or scammed by other races on our own country. If I’m
given the chance to help others in a certain way that would be helping
people to know more about the obligations and contracts. I guess its not
really too late for us Filipinos to achieve a better country if we just have
more knowledge and concern because as of now I think we are really
getting out of hand when it comes to success. We are far from behind from
our competitors. If we just start and help each other to do no harm,
progress is achievable. There’s no better place like the Philippines, so why
are we still on the edge. There is no really use of the Law on obligation and
contracts if we don’t start within ourselves. Discipline, self-trust,
conscience, honesty, Filipino values, competitiveness are some of the traits
people in our society must practice everyday to live a life full of surprise
and dedication towards every single thing you do. The laws won’t take
effect until we understand these things which are essential on being a
Filipinos citizen.
