'I am Legend' and the present global Co pandemic situation

The following essay is written based on the movie called "I am Legend" and the present global Co
pandemic situation. In here first going through the movie summary and then moving to the current
situation "I am Legend" is a movie that directed by Francis Lawrence and it was released on 14th
December, 2007. This movie is actually the third adaptation of Richard Matheson’s novel of the
same name from 1954. The story is set in New York City after a virus, which was originally created
to cure cancer, has wiped out most of mankind, leaving Robert Neville as the last human in New
York City, other than nocturnal mutants. Neville is immune to the virus and he works to flourish a
cure whole defending himself against the hostile mutants. In the movie the main protagonist
lieutenant colonel Robert Neville who is a United States of America military virologist resaid in
now deserted Manhattan. He probably is the sole survivor of the area due to a disease emerged
three years ago back in 2009. In 2009 sciences came up with a treatment for cancer, based mutated
measles virus, which ended up been lethal to the human kind.

According to the plot, the virus killed 90% of the world population, while turning 9.8% into a
mutant special which shows outrageous and cannibalistic symptoms. The final 0.2% of the
population is the people who has immunity to the virus. During the movie it tries to tell the struggle
of the Robert Neville and his companions, Anna, Ethan and his pet Sam, in order to survive and
find a cure to the pandemic. Also the movie puts the Robert Neville's mental stability to the picture
as the target events he has under gone such as witnessing the deaths of his wife and child due to a
helicopter crash, killing his own pet as a poor animal, get infected from the virus, living in a fully
isolated city where nobody to talk or interact to.

The protagonist also so keen about the time during the day especially the time of sunset. The
mutants breaks free at night. There for he must plan on his daily routines to be finished within the
sunset and sunrise. To avoid his loneliness he has put dummies in a music store in order to pretend
that he is interacting with people. During the last scenarios of the movie he gets attacked by a dark
seeker which looks like the mutant is trying to rescue one of Neville's female test subject, showing
the mutant possession of intelligence and compassion at the time Neville was about to obtain a
successful cure, he sends of Anna and Ethan with the cure to a survival camp while sacrifice be
detonating a grenade. During the movie there was something pleasurable to see, it's the
environmental effects of the USA's most urbanized city without human interacting, the whole cite
is being verge to become a forest, when wild animals roaming here and there.

Moving on to the present Co pandemic situation as we all know is Covid 19. Covid 19 is a virus
that will effected to the respiratory system in human body. The disease was firstly identified in
19th December 2019 from the one of city in China. Symptoms of this disease are fever, dry cough,
shortness of death, fatigue, sputum production, loss of smell, muscle or joint pain, sore throat,
headache, chills, diarrhea, pink eyes etc. This virus takes two to fourteen days for show the
symptoms of the virus. That the dangerous part of this virus. If we look back at the present situation
as of 15th April, 2020 the total Covid 19 cases about to reach 2 million while the death toll being
approximate 126,000 and frequency confirmed cases are 1,981,239. There are lot of preventing
methods that informed by doctors they are hand washing, quarantine, social distance etc.

Although the pandemic situation might seems poles apart from 'I am Legend'. There are some
similarities between them as in the movie world faced panicking among the people, world
witnessed people by goods like the world's end, world witness the reaction of people when they
see someone who's sneezing on fainted in the movie the characters facing some kind of an
isolation, although we are with pour family members. The places that we used to hang out with
our friends and relations are separated from us because of this current situation.

Because of this incident we miss one of the most enjoyable month 'April' where we used to hang
out with relations and used to shop for Sri Lankans. But we all have to stay inside otherwise we
can't get out from this dangerous situation. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will
experience mild to moderate respiratory disease and recover without requiring special treatment.
Older people, and people with underlying medical problems like disorder, diabetes,
chronic respiratory disorder, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The best way to prevent and impede transmission is to be informed about the COVID-19 virus,
the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others' lives from infection by
washing your hands or rubbing frequently on alcohol and not touching your mouth, nose and eyes
and staying at home.There are some stupid people who are not listening to the government orders
because of that people there is a high possibility to spare this virus over in the society.

In the end we must be cautions as Robert Neville, we must be mentally stabilize as him, then we
all can get out from this tragic. We all have our own responsibility to help to the world come across
from this situation. If we are not practice the health care solution we can't protect outlives, animals
lives and whole world. If we all stay as a one nation as a one world we all can see the healthy and
peaceful sunshine sooner.
