Application Enabler
What It Is
Application Enabler rapidly and seamlessly integrates business applications with the OnBase enterprise content management system.
The integration is point-and-click configurable and requires no API programming, scripting or modifications to enabled applications.
Application Enabler has had proven success integrating with hundreds of Java™, Windows®, Web-based or terminal applications.

Application Enabler provides a number of core functions when interoperating with an organization’s enterprise or line-of-business (LOB)
application. Documents can be retrieved from the OnBase repository directly from within the enterprise application via a single click or
by running a Custom Query of related documents. Once retrieved, documents can be reviewed, cross-referenced, annotated and
managed utilizing all available OnBase document viewer functions. In addition, users are able to directly participate in business
processes by executing actions against data resident in the enterprise application. Application Enabler can deliver Workflow
functionality and launch the Folder interface directly within the LOB application with no programming and/or application changes.

Application Enabler can reduce administration and maintenance of the imaging system by automatically indexing documents with
keyword validation. A document can have all the indexing information added simply by clicking on the LOB screen. Bar code
production is supported within Application Enabler to facilitate the generation of indexing bar codes, which can then be used to
automatically index additional documents into the OnBase system. The Application Enabler module supports the automated creation of
OnBase E-Forms and virtual E-Forms for further processing of content and data across multiple business processes. Finally, Application
Enabler can populate a Microsoft Word document template with values scraped from the LOB application screen.

How It Works
A simple point-and-click configuration will tell Application Enabler how to pull information from virtually any application. It can perform
document retrieval, index documents, generate bar codes, initiate Workflow, create E-Forms, populate Microsoft Word documents, run a
Custom Query and launch the OnBase Folder interface all from a single enterprise or LOB screen.

New screens can be “enabled” in minutes without API programming. There is no need to customize the line-of-business application.
Because there is no custom programming, the Application Enabler module provides a non-intrusive path to integrating content
management with enterprise applications, requiring almost no extra training or alteration to the standard user experience.
