ARTS AND ARTISANS: Production Process, Medium, and

Technique

(ANSWER THIS!)

Write your observation in the above photo.

The colors are warm, thus recreating the vibes of a scorching hot day where
bullfighting usually takes place. It seems as if the bulls were trapped inside, a flaming hot
bullring, which for me appears to be a cage for those poor and helpless bulls, who
frantically seek a way out. This piece exhibits a deep fascination with entertainment
concerning the provocative match of bullfighting. I think this art is a form of metaphor
for the political stage in Spain, Portugal, and other Hispanic countries. It capitalizes on
bullfighting as a symbol of defiance against the oppressive system in Spain.

Analysis

Consider the questions below:

1. What is an artisan?
An artisan is a person who is profoundly skillful with their hands and can achieve
unprecedented hand-operated labor tasks with functional and decorative items using
traditional techniques. Artisans are masters of their craft and create products such as
clothes, toys, tools, or furnishings. These artisanal techniques are learned through decades
of tribal knowledge and passed down within families and communities. Many artisans
depend on resources from their nearby surroundings to create these items.

2. What medium did early humans use in their artwork? Where did they normally transform
their artwork?
The oldest type of art medium early humans used in their artwork was drawing. The
Dry Media are primarily found in cave paintings using natural pigments created by
mixing ground-up natural elements. However, artists from early civilization primarily use
charcoal as a medium for making outlines of their drawings on canvas before they add
color. The material can perform through overpainting without modifying the color of the
paint. – black crumbly drawing material made of carbon; often used for sketching and
under-drawing for paintings are, made to produce more polished drawings.

3. What does an artisan do in each stages of the art process?

Generally, there are (3) stages of the art process. The first stage of the art process is
the pre-production stage, where the artist must always begin with the formulation of
his/her subject and his/her medium/technique in making an artwork. The second stage is
known as the production stage, which states that the artist during this stage gathers and
sources the medium needed for the creation of the artwork. Lastly, the post-production
stage can only take place once the art is done then the art itself would have to undergo
strict art critics, and once your art is approved, the artist along with the art critics may
start gathering their thoughts on how the art would be up for viewing in terms of a public
or private exhibition.
Application (DO THIS)!

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Create work of art using one (1) art medium.
2. What is the story behind your art work?
"When the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world." Going
nowhere isn't about turning your back on the world; it's about walking away now and
seeing the truth with what goes beyond life. Nothing in life is worth turning your back
on if you embrace it. The world has nothing to do with your misfortunes, it goes on
without any care. Only toxic people come to mess with your heads, create chaos and
point fingers at you. Staying true to yourself in a world that is constantly trying to
change you into something that we're not, is the biggest scheme I have ever heard. So
please do remember as I turn my back on you, it’s because you did the same to me.
