Global Warming

As we are continue continuously doing are everyday basis and routines, there are so
many changes happening in our planet. Unfortunately, these has negative outcomes. Obviously,
we can that it is gradually occurring in such a fast pace. We might have noticed the improper
shifting of our seasons, extreme drought, heat, and many more. This worldwide phenomenon is
called global warming. Global warming is the gradual increase in the average temperature of the
earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of
carbon dioxide. This is usually caused by pollution, greenhouse gases, burning of trees and other
materials. It is sad to think that we are the one who caused this but even though we know it, even
though we are aware of it, we keep on doing these careless acts.

Global warming have many effects in our environment, spring is arriving earlier and
winters are shorter. These affects many life-cycle events, such as when flowers bloom or when
pollinators emerge, and misalignment between species. This is directly linked to warmer global
temperatures. Another implication is extreme drought because of so much heat that is directly
going on our surface which then destroys crops and lands.

It is not just occurring on one place or another, it occurs worldwide, so there are no
exceptions on the damages it is bringing. As days, months, and years are passing by, its effects
are getting worse. In other words, it is quickly destroying our planet, and if this continues to
occur, we humans, including all living things might be extinct in the future. If we would not die
because of extreme heat, we would die due to starvation.

II. Effects of Global Warming to Human Being

Aside from climate change, improper shifting of seasons, extreme heat and weather, and
other effects, it is proven that global warming not only affects our environment. It also affects us
humans and our attitude. According to Anderson (2017), when people get uncomfortably hot,
their temper, irritability, and physical aggression, and violence increase. Several studies were
given to undergraduate participants who comprehend measures of perceived hostility. They were
randomly assigned on different rooms. The first room is in comfortable temperature while the
other is in a hot temperature. Participants in the hot room perceived a series of filmed
interactions or being more hostile and aggressive than participants in the comfortable room.

Extreme weather or heat also affects our economy as it destroys homes and jobs. This
will be felt by disadvantaged and vulnerable populations that will increase the rates of poverty,
and unequal income. It may be unusual or unnecessary but it can also be the cause of aggression
and violence. This income inequality or disparity leads to dissatisfaction that often leads to
violence. Global warming causes climate change which then also affects our ecosystem. Each
species responds to its changing environment, its interaction with the physical world and the
organisms around it also changes. It leads to the expansion of species in new areas,
intermingling of formerly non-overlapping species, or even the worst, species extinction.

III. Preserve our Planet

As we have witnessed, all these changes in our environment and our planet, I bet our
minds have been cleared on what we should do. After all these information that I found, the main
reason of this change is because of our ignorance and our carelessness, and because of this, we
should not be surprised on what dangerous things might happen on the future.

It is not yet finished, we can still preserve and change our planet back to the time when it
wasn’t yet ruined. It is our choice and at the same time our responsibility, so let’s act now before
it’s too late.
