Title of Reading Selection: The benefits of AI: 6 societal advantages of automation.

Summary
Direction: Write a one-paragraph (approximately 10 sentences) summary of the reading selection. It should include the title of the reading
selection, the author’s name, author’s thesis, and supporting points.

This is a summary of a blog written by Ashley Brooks, a freelance educational writer, published on 2019 of November entitled: The
Benefits of AI: 6 Societal Advantages of Automation. In this comprehensive treatise, the author wants to highlight the benefits of having and
cultivating the use of AI installed in our daily lives. It is also aligned with the purpose to enlighten the many regarding what AI has to offer the
humankind and what kind of ease and advancement it will procure. The author stated numerous advantages namely, Ai would help us to
accurately diagnose diseases, it will help us preserve our environment, it would be of assistance predicting natural disasters, it will help us
improve our education system, it could help prevent acts of violence and can be a tool to lessen on-the-job hazards, respectively. However, aside
from the stated purpose of the article, the author ends the last paragraph in to a question that is, “Will you be part of the AI revolution?”. The
author wants to encourage everyone to engage not just in approving or accepting AI in our daily lives, rather, they want us not just to be a
watcher but to be a participant in our transit to a revolutionary intelligence. The article made by Ashley Brooks is so future-ready. It is so
important not just because of the benefits we will reap from it, but it is so delightful to realize that the future is already in our present. We are
basically looking at our tomorrow.

Response
Direction: Write a one-paragraph (approximately 10 sentences) response to the reading selection. It should include your reaction to the
author’s thesis, and assessment of author’s achievement of the text’s purpose, clarity, and objectivity.

Ashley Brooks’ article is a forward-looking treatise that gives an advantageous perspective regarding Artificial Intelligence. It has
provided facts supported by expert’s claims and it is loaded with information. However, in every situation, two sides of reality are going to occur.
Personally, the purpose, clarity and objectivity of the text was very well accomplished. But as I aforementioned above, where’s the other side of
reality? The text has given me a sort of a biased orientation regarding the use of AI. We cannot just turn a blind eye on the other side of the coin
because in every advancement the humankind takes, there are always those who suffer for it. There are those who are left behind. I know for a
fact that AI is revolutionary, it is clear to me and I am well aware. Nonetheless, revolutionary does not always equate to being a better option. As
far as I can remember, humans did everything for revolutionizing the society, but look where it has led us. A planet that is so advanced yet is a
self-destructive habitat.
