LAB REPORT IV NITIN MEHTA

18/BEC/030

 Objective – Design of Rectangular Micro-Strip Patch Antenna (MPA).

 Theory/Experiment – Minimum Freq. = 10 GHz , Maximum Freq. = 15 GHz

Step-1 – A Micro-Strip Patch Antenna is designed with given perimeters: -

[ wp=10mm, lp=11mm , tg=0.35mm , h=1.6mm , t=0.35mm , l=0.75mm ]

For Ground – Copper Material with X-axis(-wp/2,wp/2), Y-axis(-lp/2,lp/2), Z-axis(0,tg)

For Substrate – fr-4 Material with X-axis(-wp/2,wp/2), Y-axis(-lp/2,lp/2), Z-axis(0,tg+h)

For Patch – Copper Material with X-axis(-wp/4,wp/4), Y-axis(-lp/4,lp/4), Z-axis(tg+h.tg+h+t)

For Feed – Copper Material with X-axis(-l/2,l/2), Y-axis(-lp/2,-lp/2), Z-axis(tg+h.tg+h+t)

Step-2 – Waveguide Port is added to Antenna through Feed.

Step-3 – After Simulation, we can see S(1,1) as below: -

And we can observe that the bandwidth of the antenna is between 11.453 GHz to 12.073
GHz.

 Learning Attained – We got to know how to design Rectangular Micro-Strip Patch Antenna
(MPA) and find bandwidth of the it.

 Conclusion – Rectangular Micro-Strip Patch Antenna (MPA) designed successfully with S(1,1)
as shown above and bandwidth from 11.453 GHz to 12.073 GHz.
