Module Guide for BECORE 4: Governance, Business Ethics, Risk Management and Internal Control

VISION: Mabalacat City College envisions being the equalizer of educational opportunities to MISSION: The College aims to provide experiential, innovative modes and values-enriched

responsive communities competent and socially responsible professionals and leaders.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course highlights decision-making approach to business ethics, good governance, risk management, and assessment and review of internal
controls by using case studies, lectures and reflections. Learners will be able to apply and integrate concepts and theories and develop sensitivity to values
particularly Christian values involved in business decisions. Likewise, learners shall apply an ethical decision-making process and evaluation and review of
internal controls in solving real-life cases. Good corporate governance, observation of business ethics and implementation of risk management and strong
internal controls are elements to self-regulation that leads to good corporate citizenship.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Develop skills of high order so as to provide thorough knowledge and insight into the corporate governance framework, best governance practices.
2. Develop skills of high order so as to provide thorough knowledge and insight into the spectrum of risks faced by businesses.
3. Acquire knowledge of ethics in business and framework for corporate sustainability reporting.
4. Adhere to sound principles of direction and management.
5. Implement best practices on corporate management.
6. Explain the basic principles and procedures systems of internal control.
7. Equip students with the knowledge of the key enterprise risk management process such as risk assessment and risk responses, and knowledge of internal control
principles which are essential in providing a sound internal control environment.
8. Name and understand the methods of control used in risk management.
9. Demonstrate the application of professional values and judgment through an ethical framework that is in the best interests of society and the profession in
compliance with relevant professional codes, laws, and regulations.
