In the Capitol of Panem, every year in its 12 district there’s a force selection of a boy

and girl, which is called the Tributes. The Tributes will compete with one another until
only one will remain, the game is called Hunger Games and it is also nationally
televised. In District 12, Katniss Everdeen, a teenager and tough hunter, was the
Tribute after she volunteered and replaced her sister, which was chosen during the
draft. Also, Peeta Mellark is selected, a baker’s son.
The time comes for them to get into the arena. 24 Tributes were lifted in a forested area
of arena. When they began, Katniss rushed towards the forest as she used her hunting
and survival skills as her strategy. Each night, dead tributes where shown in the sky. As
she stays hidden, she discovered that Peeta is with the Career Tributes. On the other,
Katniss also found an alliance with Rue from District 12 when Rue helps her to get away
with the Career Tributes. They also planned to destroy the Career Tributes, Rue
distracts them by setting fires while Katniss uses mines to destroy the supplies that
Career Tributes used to survive. As she returned, Rue is killed by another Tribute, who
then becomes Katniss’s first kill.
The Gamemakers announces that the rules have changed. States that the two Tributes
from the same district can now team up and win the game. She seeks out Peeta and
found him severely injured. After Peeta gets well, they go to the center of the arena and
must face the last Tribute, Cato. But the Gamemakers unleashed the wolf-man
creature. They escape by climbing up while Cato falls down and get mauled. Katniss
killed Cato with her arrow. They have won the game but the Gamemakers change the
rules that only one will win. They decide to eat the poison berries and die together. But,
the Gamemaker stops them and declares both of them as the winners.
A few months after winning the Hunger Games, in the Victor’s Village, Katniss is now
enjoying a lavish lifestyle. The president of the Capitol, Snow, which runs the land of
Panem, visits Katniss in District 12 when she and Peeta are about to begin their Victory
tour. The president was furious at the way she and Peeta used the berries to defy the
Capitol. And to beat the Hunger Games, in a way. He tells her that in the other district,
she launched a chain of reaction of rebellions and that the whole Capitol of Panem must
be persuaded that what she did was not an act of rebellion, but that she was so in love
with Peeta that she did not think straight.
In an interview after their Victory Tour, Peeta proposes to Katniss to convince the
country that they are in love and stop the president from his bad intensions.
They discover that the tributes will be selected from the current pool of victors for the
next Hunger Games, the 3rd Quarter Quell. Katniss is heading back to the arena with
Peeta. Inside the arena, they were joined by Finnick and Mags. Suddenly, four of them
got in trouble and Peeta has been wounded by the force field. As Finnick holding both
Mags and Peeta, an acid fog chases them, unexpectedly. Mags then steps straight into
the fog and dies and stops.
Katniss and other Tributes, find that at midnight the arena is on a clock that resets. They
attempt to execute one of the schemes of their allies who were killed, to use the electric
storms to electrify the other tributes. She is targeted by one of her comrades, who slices
her arm with a knife and then runs away, as Katniss unravels the wire to carry it down to
shore. Katniss find one of her allies knocked out, Katniss stumbles up to the force field,
ties the wire to arrow then fires an electrified arrow into the force field, and then passes
out. She wakes up in a hovercraft bound for District 13, a place that everyone assumes
is gone. And she discovers that her ally, who had sliced her arm, had just taken her
tracker, and that the Capitol had captured Peeta, and the one who cut the tracker.
Moreover, Gale, her best friend, tells her that her mother and sister is safe, but District
12 is destroyed by the Capitol.
After being rescued from the arena of Hunger Games and taken to District 13, the
headquarters led by President Alma Coin. Katniss was told that her arrow that
destroyed the force field led to riots in over the districts, joining District 13 in the
rebellion which caused the President of the Capitol to bomb District 12. Coin asked her
to become the Mockingjay, a symbol of the rebellion. Katniss agree after seeing Peeta
being manipulated on national television to quell the rebellion.
Katniss is constantly filmed to use for their propaganda across Panem. In District 8, they
visited the hospital, it was seen by President Snow and orders an airstrike at the
hospital killing everyone inside. They then travelled to District 12, and was filmed
singing a song which was sung by District 5 and launched an attack against a
hydroelectric dam that was primary source of electricity of the Capitol.
During an interview of Peeta, President Coin and Beethee hack the signal to air a clip of
Katniss. After seeing it, Peeta shouts that the Capitol is about to attacked District 13.
So, they had a mass evacuation into their underground shelters and the facility survives
the attack. President Snow leaves the bombing area with white roses. A rescue mission
is sent to retrieve Peeta and the other victors. They hijack the Capitol’s defense system.
They successfully rescued Peeta and others and escape the Capitol. Katniss reunited
with Peeta, yet Peeta try to kill her. She then wakes up in a facility and was told that
Peeta has been brainwashed into killing her, so they keep him in isolation.
Katniss joins an assault on the Capitol’s armory in District 2. A civilian shoot her but
saved by a bulletproof suit. Coin refuses Katniss to join the star squad, which are the
group of rebels set to infiltrate the Capitol. But she was cover by Johanna and let her
sneaks to the helicopter of star squad. The team make their way into the Capitol
evading the trapped placed along the way.
As they venture into the Capitol, Bogg, their leader, was fatally injured by an unmarked
trapped and transfers the command to Katniss. Another trapped is triggered, releases a
flood of black lava. Then Peeta momentarily attack Katniss due to his condition.
President Snow broadcast about the rebellion but was hijack allowing President Coin to
gives a message that rallies the rebels. Katniss and the squad advance through the
sewers to avoid pods but was seen by the camera and ambushed by the genetically
engineered reptiles that kill four members.
President Snow invites the citizen to come to his mansion, offering them food and
shelter because the rebels have penetrated the Capitol. Gale and Katniss disguised and
mingle with the refugees to sneaks into the Presidents mansion to assassinate him. A
massive explosion disrupts their plan, the Peacekeepers herd children toward the
palace gate when a hovercraft from Capitol, bombs the crowd causing mass casualties.
The rebel medics attempt to help the injured, among them was Katniss sister, Prim, yet
another round of bombs are dropped, killed Prim and knocks Katniss unconscious.
Katniss wakes up and learned that rebels won, and that President Snow was captured.
Katniss talked to Snow and Snow’s explained Coin stage the bombing to turn his
supporters against him. Katniss confronts Gale about the bombing, Gale confesses and
apologizes but Katniss was unable to forgive him. Coin calls for a meeting for the
surviving Hunger Games victors where she declares herself as the President of Panem.
She calls for a vote for a final Hunger Games and use the children of leaders as
revenge. Katniss voted yes under the condition that she will execute Snow.
At Snow’s execution, Katniss kills Coin instead, which causes the citizen to riot to kill
Snow. Peeta stops Katniss from committing suicide and she is arrested in captivity.
Katniss was received a letter that she will be pardoned, there will be no last Hunger
Games and she will be able to return to District 12.
She returns to District 12 and finds Peeta, which fully recover from his condition. They
received a letter that Finnick’s son is born, that her Mother is treating survivors, Gale
was promoted to captain and Commander Paylor was elected as the new President of
Panem. Years later, Katniss and Peeta are married and have a two children. Katniss
tells to her infant about her time in the games and states that there are much worse
games to play.
