Six Sigma (6σ) is a set of techniques and tools for process improvement. It was
introduced by American Engineer Sir Bill Smith while working at Motorola in
1986. A six sigma process is one in which 99.99966% of all opportunities to
produce some feature of a part are statistically expected to be free of defects.
Six Sigma is a method that provides organizations tools to improve the
capability of their business processes. This increase in performance and
decrease in process variation helps lead to defect reduction and improvement
in profits, employee morale, and quality of products or services.

Six Sigma asserts that:

1. Continuous efforts to achieve stable and predictable process results
(e.g., by reducing process variation) are of vital importance to business
success.
2. Manufacturing and business processes have characteristics that can be
defined, measured, analysed, improved, and controlled.
3. Achieving sustained quality improvement requires commitment from
the entire organization, particularly from top-level management.

Features that set Six Sigma apart from previous quality-improvement

initiatives include:

4. Focus on achieving measurable and quantifiable financial returns

5. Emphasis on management leadership and support
6. Commitment to making decisions on the basis of verifiable data and
statistical methods rather than assumptions and guesswork

Introduction to DataBase Management System (DBMS):

Data: Facts, Figure, statistics etc. having no particular meaning

Big Data: Big data is commonly defined as high volume mostly text data and
it is studied by data scientist in the field of data science

Data science: Managing and analysing massive set of data such as target
marketing trend analysis and creation of individual tailored product and
services is called as data science

Cloud Computing
SoMoClo (Social Mobile Cloud): It is a huge data centre accessible via
internet and forms the core by providing 24x7 access to the storage apps and
services

Hand Held and wearable devices and their user forms the edge of the cloud

Social channel connects the core and edge creating integration of technical
and service infrastructure needed for digital business
