Science, Technology and Society

The 3rd week lecture is good. The topic is the philosophy of science knowledge, truth, and
justification. About this topic it opens my mind about the people who have different perspectives
knowing what they know. For example other people are what they see is to believe some of them
they believe what they believe and lastly they just don’t believe. I like this lesson because it
teaches me how to prove my knowledge about something that it’s true. for example a ghost.
Some people believe in the existence of it. Some of them are not. But me being a Muslim, we
believe the existence of the “Jinn”or in filipino is “Engkanto” who are the supernatural creatures
that are unseen. We believe in that because Allah created them. Personally, I believe in it even
though we are living in this century. Because of the knowledge that I've learned with my family
and my religion.

But how do I know that the knowledge that I know is true? Not all the knowledge that I believe
is only from one perspective. Because it depends on the situation. Sometimes I believe because
this is what God said, Because this is what my parents said, and this is what other people said. So
you will find some different ideas or suggestions on that situation so that you will know what is
the right thing to believe. For example, the other community said they should believe in this guy
because he is right but the other community thinks that he is not. And for you you need to know
if he is right or not. You will find the answers of both communities so you will know what you
will choose and who is right. But in the end it’s up to you.

I love this topic because you will find an answer that is an answer already. It gives a lot of things
and ideas before committing to something. Because some of us are very impulsive about their
choices in life, some of us need proof so they choose it and some of us they choose it because of

what the other taught them and some of us they just have no choice. I learned that it’s a choice
on how you will justify the truth that you believe in. If it’s the right thing to believe or not. I
learned on this topic that you don’t need to prove that you’re right. You just need to choose what
your heart and your mind wants.
