CASE STUDY #1

PASTOR ISRAEL OMOTADE

Pastor Israel Omotade was born into a Christian home but gave his life to Christ in 2009 and has since
then developed a walk with God. He started ministry almost immediately, pastoring in 2010 on
campus(he heard the call during an ASUU strike in 2009).He got the major call that brought him to
Citizens of Light Church in 2016.

After becoming a believer,he craved the baptism of the Holy Spirit but didn’t get it for a while. One
day,he had an encounter in the dream and spoke in tongues from sleep. He has since then been
enjoying the company, friendship and leadership of the Holy spirit so much that he enjoys being alone.
He said ‘I practically ask the Holy spirit everything, it’s default. Communication with the Holy spirit is
easier when as a believer, you have the word of God which is the language of the spirit and there is
fellowship (time spent together). The volume of the things you hear is determined by the number of
times you spend with the person’.

Pastor Israel believes that the work of the Holy spirit is first within and then through a person, for in
every way, Christianity starts from within and then flows out. In his words,' Christianity starts first with
me then I can be a blessing to others, as a young christian, the Holy Spirit practically tells me
everything;what to do/say and what not to. But as I mature,he leaves me to make certain decisions
because he knows I will make the right choice. My walk with the Holy spirit was step by step and I saw
myself change. So as a minister, my walk with the Holy spirit is what will translate into ministry because
it flows from the abundance of what I have within me. But when I notice that it’s dwindling, I retreat. I
don’t know how to do ministry apart from being with the Holy spirit’.

He talked about the significance of power to a ministry and minister because energy is needed to pull
something down and there is need to be stronger when pulling something strong (EPH 6:12). In his
words ‘you don’t want to wrestle against powers without power, you will be crushed. For if you must
overcome something, you must have a higher power above that thing. The more power you have above
the enemy, the more impact you’ll make in Ministry'.

To sustain the flow of the Holy spirit, he said a minister must always come back to the presence of the
father and since the Holy spirit can’t be separated from ministry, a minister has to always be in sync with
the Holy spirit so as to always be on point, not excessive or draggy.

He affirmed that CLC has been sustained through soaking in the word of God, prayers, worship and
fellowship with the Holy spirit.

CASE STUDY #2

PASTOR JANET OJEKEMI

Pastor Janet resigned in 2013 and started training for ministry since then.

She captures the Holy spirit scripturally as ‘our helper’. The Holy spirit is that person that knows you
inside out and wants the best for you. He helps to supply light in studying the word and counsel when
praying for people.

Pastor Janet emphasized on the importance of one’s relationship with the Holy spirit as there can not
be a ministry without the person of the Holy spirit. This will only lead to frustrations as there would be
no results and such ministry cannot impact or transform lives.

She likened the relationship with the Holy spirit to the pregnancy in a woman. It tells people that there
is a relationship between a husband a wife. A baby is the outcome of what goes on behind closed doors.
The impact of ministry and what can be passed on to others is as a result of walk with the Holy spirit . He
is related with in the word, prayer and meditation. It is through this a minister finds strength as there is
practically nothing a minister can do without the Holy spirit.

Pastor Janet believes you always get a new song whenever you genuinely worship the father in the
spirit. There is always a new song in the place of worship.

To sustain the flow of the Holy spirit, consistency in fellowship is very important. A minister must
maintain intimacy with the Holy spirit at all times by worshipping, praying, studying, reading the word of
God and meditation. Meditation is the class of the Holy spirit.
