Adobe photoshop tools

Adobe Photoshop CS6 is the industry-standard image editing software, used worldwide by professional
photographers, amateur photographers, and designers who want to perfect their digital images.

The different types of tools are:

 Selection tools includes:


 Move tool - it allows you to move a selection or entire layer by dragging it with your mouse.
 Marquee tool -You use it to select areas of an image which you can then copy, cut, or crop. It can
also isolate sections of a graphic to apply a filter or effect to an area.
 Lasso tool -With the Lasso Tool selected, you simply click at the spot in the document where you
want to begin the selection, then continue holding your mouse button down and drag to create a
freeform selection outline.
 The Crop tool allows you to select an area of an image and discard everything outside this area.
 Quick selection tool allows you to quickly and easily select one area or section of an image.
 Eyedropper tool enables you to change foreground or background colors by lifting them from the
image.

 Retouching and painting tools include:


 The background eraser tool allows you to remove the background color from an image or layer.
 Gradient tool helps you make a combination of two or more colors where you can see the subtle
transformation from one color to another.
 The stamp tool is used to remove unwanted elements from a photograph and replace them with
another piece.
 The Brush tool produces soft-edged lines that Photoshop renders smoother by a process known as
anti-aliasing.

 The shape tools include:


 The shape tool is used to draw shapes such as rectangles, squares, etc.
 The pen tool allows you to draw straight lines, curved lines, or a combination of both.
 The type tool is used to create a text box to type in.
 The path selection tool can be used to select an entire path or sub path.

 The view tools are:


 the Hand tool is used to maneuver a portion of an image to center it and bring it into focus. The
tool is used to work on one specific area at a time and is particularly useful when you are working
with a smaller image and need to zoom in.
 The zoom tool is used to maximize or minimize the size of a photo.

 The other tools are:


 The foreground color and background color tools represent the currently selected color for a
foreground and the currently selected color for the background. By default, the foreground color
is black, and the background color is white.
 Editing mode -Full Photo Edit mode offers bundles of tools that you can use to edit your images,
from correction tools for fixing color and clarity to filters, layers, and more
 Screen mode- Standard Screen Mode displays the entire Photoshop interface, including the
Toolbar on the left and the panels on the right. It also includes the Menu Bar and the Options Bar
along the top.

These are the tools of Photoshop CS6. They help and make it easier to perform certain functions.
