Update BIOS Using Intel FPT.efi or FPT64.efi on


the VTC-1910

FPT EFI Version


The UEFI-based BIOS flash utility for VTC-1910. There are two
ways to utilize this utility, one is to run it from a UEFI shell, and
the other is to load it directly from BIOS Boot Manager.

Run BIOS Flash Utility in a EFI Shell:


1. Connect your USB Flash Drive to your computer and format it
using FAT32.

2. Copy all the following files in the root directory of your USB key.
BIOS binary file:
MV14xxxx.ROM (the xxxx is a revision control number)
BIOS Programming Software Utilities:
fpt.efi (for EFI x32 SPI Flash Utility, v1.0.2.1065)
fpt64.efi (for EFI x64 SPI Flash Utility, v1.0.2.1065)
fparts.txt

3. Plug in the USB key and power on the system. Press <Del> key
during POST to enter BIOS Boot Manager.

4. Go to Boot options and find the Boot Option Priorities setting.


Please disable all of Boot Option to boot. (see Figure)
5. From the UEFI shell prompt, locate the file system for the USB
key, and launch the BIOS flash utility (see Figure)

6. Follow the instruction to update the BIOS


(As system enters EFI mode. Look for location of “Removable
HardDisk”. In this case, my USB key is using “fs0” as its
directory.)

Shell> fs0: (Type the command “fs0:” then press enter.)


Shell> fpt64 -f MV14xxxx.ROM

Note: Please maintain the power supply during the updating.

7. After the update is complete, the utility will return to the EFI
shell prompt. And reboot.

8. Enter the BIOS setup menu and load "Restore Defaults."

9. Save and reboot. You're finished.
