SCENE:- ​A delivery boy is knocking on the door.

Dad opened the door and saw the delivery boy

outside. He handed dad 3 parcels and a bill of rupees 6948/-. He took the stuff inside and paid
the respective amount to the delivery boy.

DAD​:- RAHUL!!!! COME DOWN HERE…

RAHUL​:- What happened papa? Why are you calling me?... ohh! My parcels arrived...their
service is too good, they delivered it 2 days before.
DAD​:- Did you order all these?.. Are you aware of the bill?
RAHUL​:- Yes papa…I ordered it on sale...it has saved a lot of money. I got all these for around
7000/- only… wanna see my new hoodies dad?...let me try it on..
DAD​:- You already have 7 hoodies in your wardrobe. Are you going to open a hoodie shop?
RAHUL​:- But see their designs dad….I couldn’t stop myself buying these… They are too
fascinating…
DAD​:- Son...They are too costly. And I don’t think their fabric quality is that good according to
their prices..
RAHUL​:- Their reviews were good and they look stunning on me…
DAD​:- Kids these days don’t realise the value of money...and online shopping has made it
worsen….
RAHUL​:- But papa, when there were no stores open during this pandemic, only onlines stores
were open where we buyed our necessities.
DAD​:- Yes, but now shops are open… and you still don’t get out of the house to buy simple
stuff...don’t you think it has made you lazy enough…
RAHUL​:- We don’t get such a wide range in the market… only those old fashioned
stuff….outdated designs and colors.
DAD​:- But son, see the quality of hoodie you ordered, you can get physical trials in the market
that helps a lot in deciding what to buy...You can know about the quality of fabric in the market
better than these online stores..
RAHUL​:- I can return if i don’t like it as well… then where does the problem lie?
DAD​:-You know what….it happens sometimes that due to technical problems you don’t get
refund on returning items.. I have faced the same problem once… that’s why I don’t rely on
online shopping too much.
RAHUL​:- But that is an exceptional case… I haven't faced such a situation yet…
DAD​:- Yes… it's exceptional ….but we can’t be too careless as you know some of the online
shopping websites are nothing but scam.
RAHUL​:- Yes dad.. I am aware of those things...I only buy from secured shopping sites…
DAD​:- that's good but you still waste a lot of money … you know that you don’t need any
hoodies. And sales are just a way to trap customers. These sites save a lot of money as they
are directly connected with the manufacturer.
RAHUL​:- We get the same thing at market at higher rates…
DAD​:- We can bargain there….but how would you bargain at an online store?You don’t even
get to know that the item you are buying is worth its price!!
RAHUL​:- customer reviews are given there...and ratings too...we can get to know about the item
there.
DAD​:- how do you know that those reviews are not fake.. You also saw this hoodie’s review na..
But I didn't find its quality worth its price...
RAHUL​:-Yes dad… its quality is not that good.. I would surely return it..But that doesn’t mean
that all the stuff available online is bad...we can still get things at a steal.
DAD​:- yes son.. But that doesn't mean that you began to order unnecessarily.
RAHUL​:- sure papa… I would take care that I don't spend too much money on these things.
DAD​:- thats cool.. You are allowed to buy stuff...but only those things which are cheaper from
the market..
RAHUL​:- I will show you everything before buying too…
DAD​:- and beware of online scams as well… I have heard of incidents where scammers took
away people's money…. Because as online transactions are increasing, it has become easier
for such scam companies to trap people...
RAHUL​:- Yes dad, i realised my mistake of using online shopping excessively…. I would try to
find things in the market first.
DAD​:- by the way… you can order stuff online...it saves a lot of time….you could use that time
in your studies as well..and if you are getting better variety at cheaper prices...its good..
RAHUL​:- Sure dad… I will make sure that I only buy those things which are needed… I won’t
waste money from now onwards...rather i will save my pocket money for other things which are
needed more..
