pronunciation of the TL?
 Are sts provided with an appropriate written record of the TL at an appropriate

 Do students have controlled practice and feedback on language use?
 Do students have meaningful practice and feedback on content and language?

Receptive skills lesson


 Does the teacher follow an appropriate procedure for receptive skills?
 If there is pre-teaching of vocabulary, how well is it handled – is it time-efficient?
 Which sub skills are practised?
 Do sts pair/group check answers before FB?
 Do sts get to respond personally to the content of the text?

Instructions

 Are instructions clear?


 Does the teacher check where relevant with ICQs/demonstration of tasks?

Pace/level of challenge/interaction

 Does the lesson move along at an appropriate pace?


 Is the level of challenge appropriate for the level?
 Is there an appropriate balance of teacher-led to student-student activities?

Use of teaching aids / tech tools / BORs


 Are the slides clear and appropriate to support the lesson?
 Does the teacher use an appropriate variety of teaching aids/tech tools / BORs for
tasks/FB and are these time-efficient?
 Do the students use the tools?

Feedback on tasks
 Is the FB time-efficient and clear?
