Owen Yan Comparison Essay

Select 2 characters in Twelfth Night. How do they create comedy? Compare and contrast
them. (300 words)

Viola likes the Duke of Osino, and the Duke of Osino is in love with Olivia, but Olivia likes
Sibassin. The Jazz also begs Olivia the most. Viola fell in love with the Duke. After the Duke
learned of Viola's love, he quickly gave up his passion. He gave up pursuing Olivia for a long
time, and chose to accept Viola. Was it moved by her sincere love? But love cannot be
produced by moving. The emotion between them is not love. Until the nal confession (when
Viola was disguised as a man as a servant of the Duke, she had told the Duke more than
once that she would not marry a wife but would be loyal to the Duke forever) The Duke was
so touched. I think this is unfair to Viola, but she is willing to do it. Just stepping into the
marriage hall with him hand in hand, she can't get the love she has always dreamed of.
Because of Olivia's beauty, the Duke of Osino fell madly in love with her. The Duke of Ossino
does not understand her character, he has a deep fascination with a person only by his
appearance. Appearance is really important, regardless of whether it is male or female, it has
always been the case since ancient times. At the same time, Olivia rejected the Duke of
Osino because of her appearance. She thinks he is too old. Everyone loves beautiful things,
but they are not very beautiful. So, naturally, she rst fell in love with Viola, the young and
handsome "servant" who came to court for the Duke. Like the Duke, she was attracted by
"his" young and handsome face and fell in love. "Love" is only because of beauty.
