ENGAGE

In my opinion, yes, it is necessary to change the constitution to address the demand

of society. Every single time, the demand of society is continuous, the possibility of amending
the Constitution helped ensure its ratification, although many feared the powerful federal
government it created would deprive them of their rights.

EXPLORE
Before achieving the hoped-for independence, the Philippines suffered great hardship
at the hands of the colonizers. All suffering, brutality, misery, hunger, they endured for 333
years and more. For their liberty, they did everything to fight and to get the flag of freedom.
No matter what happens, the battle will continue, it is sudden but our ancestors did
everything for the independence of the future generation. If it’s not their eagerness to be
liberated maybe now and then we are still colonized by the colonizers. Filipinos were brave
enough to conquer those miseries and horrible things that happen in their lives during the
war.

KNOWLEDGE-BUILDING
ASSESSMENT TASK 1 ESSAY

1. The situation of the Philippines after the commonwealth government the country
was placed under a military government until 1901 with the passing of the Sponsor
Amendment, putting an end to the military rule in the Philippines and replacing
it with a civil government with William H. Taft as the first civil governor. The
ratification of the Philippine Bill of 1901, which called for the creation of a lower
legislative branch composed of the elected Filipino legislators, and the Jones law
in August 1916 allowed the Filipinos to govern themselves better. I think Filipinos
are capable of handling themselves or as independent nations because, on July 4,
1946, the Unites State was already recognized the Republic of Philippines as an
independent state.
2. Each constitution establishes the relationship of the individual to the State and
defines the rights of the individual by limiting the lawful powers of the State. It is
one of the most important political achievements of the Filipinos. But the
difference between the two is that there is some section in 1973 revised and cancel
out in the 1987 constitution. Because we already know that it is necessary to
change the constitution to address the need and demands of the current society.
